I finally have him and now problems:( If you view the Image...What could be causing this? Can it be fixed?......Thank you for any help on this matter:)

Are you using the P5 Firefly renderer? If so, try turning off the "Remove Backfacing Polygons" tickbox in the render options.

artistheat ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 9:35 AM

No this was done in PoserPro:(

fauve ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 9:37 AM

I had something like this happen to me with a figure in PP a while ago. The suggestion I got was to go into the character directory and delete the .rsr file (not the .cr2 also, just the .rsr) and then load the character again and let Poser rebuild the .rsr. Sometimes those compiled .rsrs get corrupted, and rebuilding them fixes everything. Worth a try, maybe.

MarianneR ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 10:12 AM

The .rsr's that are in the same folder as the cr2-files are the preview pictures used for P4. Deleting those won't help. It's the .rsr that is in the same folder as the obj-file (somewhere in the Geometries folder) that could get corrupt, so that's the one you should try deleting (but not the obj-file itself). Poser will rebuild the .rsr when you load the figure next time. This is true for Poser 4, I don't know about PPP.

fauve ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 10:20 AM

Yes, Marianne is right... it's the .rsr in with the obj file, not the one with the cr2. Sorry for the confusion -- it's been a while since I did that. :) But I know when I tried it, it fixed the figure I was using (which showed the same kind of holes you're getting.) Hopefully it will fix Godzilla too.

artistheat ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 11:15 AM

Hmmm...The obj doesn't have a rsr...nothing to delete...Is there a program that can fix the obj?

Maybe the normals are reversed? You can use the grouper tool in Poser to select the bad boys and reverse the normals, or you could try it using UVMapper.

artistheat ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 12:46 PM

tried the reversed thing that didn't work:(

How does it show in the preview screen, as a close-up, in smooth line mode ? Compiler

Hmmm. Mine renders okay in Pro Pack, and I have the same files. It looks all right in preview mode, also.

Try reinstalling the files. Perhaps something was corrupted when you unzipped the archive.

DARN! That didn't work either...Now even dork is laughting at godzilla...:(

_dodger ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 7:42 PM

Sometimes the Netscape smart-downloader will corrupt the OBJ files. Though I don't know how. There's something on DAZ3d about this. If you used Netscape to download it try IE or something else. You have missing facets.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 8:00 PM

I'm downloading the .zip myself to see if something went horribly wrong when I uploaded it. Two more possibilities, while I'm checking: Have you installed Service Release 3 for Pro Pack? You don't have a transmap applied, do you?

artistheat ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 8:39 PM

no I don't have a trans on it....yea I have SR3 install:( and I'm not using netscape:( It's only happening with this model:(...

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 10:05 PM

Very odd. If you want to try downloading it again, on the off chance that the server hiccuped, go ahead; I haven't removed it yet. I wonder if fauve has experienced any problems?
