Hi: has anybody tried to get a Poser figure into Motionbuilder from Kaydara ? The new version has currently an 80% discount (its still not cheap). http://www.kaydara.com/ Karl

I think the VTMs @ 3D Buzz indicated that it can import OBJ & 3DS files.

Since Poser doesn't export bones & relative info for them, all you're gonna be importing into MB is a static model. Kaydara made .FBX export plugins for all the major animation programs.(Maya, Max, LW, XGI) Maybe if enough people begged them to, they'd make one for Poser if it's possible. At this point, I doubt that Curious Labs would let that happen without them reciveing a currency infusion out of it. That's really too bad, too. Kaydara has been bending over backward to make character animation transportable between the major animation apps.

Thanx guys, I am interested in a high end real time animation engine. I generate the motions by myself and I think I will give this program a chance. Karl

I have a thread on this in the Animation Forum (http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12351&Form.ShowMessage=1002408) I got Vicky in MB by first rigging her in max, then exporting to fbx. The weighting still needs some work, but I'm getting there. -Mark

I am definitly interested - if there is work to share let me know, we can do it in 3ds. We did the upper body of Don and Judy - what about applying morph targets in motionbuilder - and does open reality come with motion builder ? Karl This is my website, so you can see what Im doing: http://evolution.anthro.univie.ac.at/institutes/urbanethology/emosym.html

Unfortunately, they charge for the SDK. I asked the president of Kayadara about this in the attached thread. I haven't got to morph targets yet, so I'm not sure (I hope so). -Mark

Poser morphtagets run fine in 3ds, so they should also in kaydara
