Subject: Circular camera path

I'm trying to render a bunch of images going round a scene at controlled intervals - does that make sense? Using Poser4. If I make a movie of a walking action for example, I can get a series of images to save, but the camera's not moving. If it does move, it's only along the camera path polyline. I want the camera to go round the scene (like it does in the orbiting preview) in a circular path taking shots towards the center at controlled intervals of maybe 10 degrees at a time. Anybody got a clue? Maybe use a script to program this?

Planning to do a Bullet-Time effect? 1. Load a cylinder prop from the library (any prop will do, actually, but I like the cylinder because I'm about to make a "hub" analogy), and place it at the center of the scene. 2. Select the camera; aim it at the cylinder, either manually or with the "Point At" feature. 3. Parent the camera to the cylinder. Now you've effectively got a wheel, with the camera on the rim and the cylinder as the hub. 4. Make the cylinder invisible so it doesn't ruin the scene. 5. Rotate the cylinder along its y-axis, and the camera will follow.

Awright - thank you so much!!

Or you could just animate (change) the "yOrbit" for the camera. cheers, dr geep ;=]

sounds like a cool animation, hope you post it when it is finished!

Yes, animating the camera is what's required, but what I'm trying to figure out is how to automate that, 'cos I've got a whole lot of these suckers to do. It's just too tedious to reset the camera's orbit manually for every rendering.

If you want the camera to rotate 360 degrees,
just set:

Frame#1 camera yRotate to 0 degrees
Frame#(last) camera yRotate to 359 degrees

... and Poser will fill in all the inbetween frames correctly.

Want it to go the other direction?
Just set last frame to yRotate to (minus) -359 degrees.

If you want it to stop anywhere, just use the graph editor and set the spline to "constant."
