Subject: HELP!!! Big problems with morph targets and TrueSpace4...

Hey out there, hope someone can help. I can't get my morph targets I made in TS4 to work right-they always fly out wildly. I tried saving as a cob and converting them to .obj's with the axis in the center of the morph, and with axis at world zero. No luck- I am converting them with 3DExploration and have used the exported poser models, and also tried the original geometry from the runtimegeometry folder. Please help, I'm goin' nuts!!! Thanks

Hi, Just bought TS4 myself a week ago...really looking forward to that answer also. With my sort of luck I would not be surprised if have to purchase 2 or 3 other more expensive programs and reconvert the file between them all before being able to get it to work in P4. I am anyway a very naiv optimistic...TS5 seems to be on way and I am sure it will solve the problem...yeah!

Hey Obi Van, ya got a good 3d app there, the thing that gets me is I tried a morph target a while ago (several months), and it worked!!! Now, like a dufus, I have absolutley no idea how the heck I did it! TS4 is what I use for my props for Poser4- got some classic Star Trek stuff, ninja sword, and a couple o guns, and I'm working on a Guges LandMate suit from Appleseed. If I find out about the morphs, I will be very happy... Enjoy TS4! Later...

heyas; im not much up on truespace, but i believe what you want is compose, which is a free java utility. it works with obj's and cob's, and does useful things like scaling the objs so you can SEE them in your graphics apps, then correctly resizing them back down when you are done. look for it in the free stuff.

I have made a few morphs with truespace using Compose as the middle man. What you do is import the part into compose as an object and export it to .cob I prefer to use compose to scale it first using a uniform scale setting of 1.0. Using Truespace load the object but don't move or scale it , I don't know about changing the axis though I wouldn't recomend it. make your morph and save in the .cob format with the ascii box checked. Load it into Compose and un-scale it if you changed the scale , if you used 1.0 to scale use 0.1 to undo it, then just save it as an object and it should work. I think Compose is available in the freestuff section here.

hmmm... i dont want to question your math, but i believe 1.0 is leaving the object at the same size. in traveler's tutorial, he uses 1000 to scale up, and .001 to scale back down. or 500/.002, etc. don't know if truespace needs it scaled up that huge, but i think you meant 100/.1?

Hey peoples, thanks for the tips. I picked up compose, but still no luck. Bout ready to to have a meltdown!!! I will keep trying to get this figured out though, and if I actually am successfull, I'll post. Thanks all..
