This is Vickie's French girlfriend, Yevette, who thinks we should make love, not war, incidently. ;-) I was thinking about makining a more petite version of Vickie III, scale down the mesh and redo the joint parameters and all that, I thought I try scaling her (actually, I used Glamorous Vickie) down first. Anyway, I've never been a bis fan of scaling figures, but I scaled her body to 90%, scaled all the conforming items (including the hair) to match, everything seemed to work fine. I also scaled hown her thighs to 90% in Y, and her forearms and shoulders about the same in X, the last isn't going to work well with some clothing, maybe, but works fine on what she is wearing, or not wearing. She is shown next to regular V3 for comparision, I figure she is about 8 inches shorter than V3 now, so if V3 is 5' 10", she is 5' 2 (eyes of blue...). The Glamorous Resorts Collection they are trying on will not be out to next week, Rats!

She may be short, but she's still got great legs, Grrr, (woof!) :) Nice work Jim, when is she available? :) later jb

I really have a weak spot for petite women (being French helps, I suppose ?), so I use the scaling quite often on my models. When I do this, I usually scale the body down to 87-92%, and scale the head up a bit (101-102%). Anyway, your petite V3 looks gorgeous (and her clothes damn sexy...). Given what whe thinks, it seems that she also have a big heart and is a clear thinker. I definitely could fall in love with her (if I had V3, that is). Oh, just a note : her name should be Yvette, not Yevette (a typo, I assume). Felicitations pour cette Yvette mignone a croquer, et si sexy... Compiler

Ha!- Actually, it is Yvette, I just mistyped it! Scaling Glamorous Vickie worked so well it efectively killed making a petite version, doing that would require yet another line of clothing, not something I really wanted, either. ;-) I might have an "offical" scaling pose available, though, which could be applied to the clothing, too. Glamorous Vickie (who has been out for a couple of weeks alleady) had her head scaled up about 104% plus another 103% in Y, I kept that for Yvette, I also kept her slimmer hands.

At the risk of making a political jest, I would hope that Yvette would kick some of her local 'hommes'y' in the huiles and change their minds about the war thing....it would be a damned shame for such a beautiful little pastry to have to wear a chauder and veil. Scarab<-yes, yes, I know.....

Oh, scaling up Vicki and V3's heads is absolutely necessary - their heads are way too small proportionately speaking when at default. I scale up all my heads to between 110 and 115%. We're talking adult Vickis here. Younger characters will be even more, up to 120% even. Look at Yvette here for instance, I still think her head is small in relation to her body. She's lovely by the way Jim :o) and I won't make any jokes about head(s) lol :] Fish

She is cute. As I am also what it is known here as a 'short arse', I appreciate someone making ladies who are not so incredilbly tall!

Great figure! I've not had very good results when working with scaled figures. I guess it's the joint parameters stuff. You have to rework all of the clothes too... It seems to be a pain.

Just be careful around here Jim, or the next thing you know they will be pulling your images like they did Heart'Songs. Nice work dude.

Desdemmonna ( ) posted Thu, 13 February 2003 at 7:56 PM

If you do release her, is she going to be an add-on for Glamorous V 3.0 or are you going to release her as a stand alone new character with the related props/clothes...whatnot?

aleks ( ) posted Fri, 14 February 2003 at 3:20 AM

i'm sure it isn't necessery for her to kick her fellow frenchmen in the "huiles", they you use it for what they are made for and not for showing off. also, i'm also sure that shrub's army have enough men who don't know what else to do with their gonads, but to fight and win the war against a stone age state. on topic: can she wear normal clothes for v2 or v3 rescaled (glamorous & smv too) or does she need special clothes? thanks! :) btw, great job!

PoisenedLily ( ) posted Fri, 14 February 2003 at 7:49 AM

Actually I prefer petite characters. I think all my characters have been subjected to the scale dial. :) It might be because Im short (5'1 and 1/4") shrugs lol

Thanks guys! Here is another pic, with Mike this time. Notice th edifference in the foot size between 'em! Seems like if you just scale body, head and hands and scale the clothing to match most stuff will fit. She is (now) wearing a pair of boots I'm working on, BTW. I also made her head 5% bigger in this one.

Mason ( ) posted Fri, 14 February 2003 at 12:27 PM

Hey Jim. For body scaling if you set all the conforming clothes to be children of the girl's body then they all scale with her when you scale her body. This saves you having to scale each piece and otherwise messing up and special settings.

FishNose ( ) posted Fri, 14 February 2003 at 4:26 PM

Hey, hey! Mason, I never heard that one before... well well. Jim, that is one FINE BUTT she's showing in the mirror, phewy!! :] Fish (takes another long look)

Very nice Jim I was going to email you a few days back-something strange happened. Supermodel Steff's top accepts MORPH injection for V3. Darn strange-and found by accident while trying to make the top fit V3 by morphing V3 to fit the top! I had forgotten to reselect V3 after messing with the top-and voila! The morphs added to the top. The morphs dont work exactly the same way-but I am surprised they do anything at all! Am I imagining it-it goes against my understanding of morphs.... Hmmn, It WAS 3AM maybe I was overtired.... Eric

aleks ( ) posted Sat, 15 February 2003 at 1:36 AM

so... at the risk of repeating myself... can she wear other clothes?

Jim Burton ( ) posted Sat, 15 February 2003 at 10:21 AM

Well, the version shown takes other GV clothing O.K., as long as you stick with just body, head and hand scaling, and scaled the clothing th esame amount. I also scaled her arms in X which worked O.K. for what is shown, and scaled her thighs in Y which worked fine untill I bent her knees! She is so cute though, I'll have to think about (later) making her. If I did she would require her own special clothing, which of course I'd furnish as an free extra for my GV / V3 clothing sets. If I did her I'd do a little farther maybe, to make it worth the trouble, but she would still take all V3 textures and most-all V3 morphs. Jim loves doing new figures anyway, I've alread done Supermodel Vickie, Pin-up Stephaine, Supermodel Dina, Supermodel Lori, Hi-Fashion Vickie, (formerly Supermodel Morph Vickie) and Glamorous Vickie! I'd have to see if DAZ would let me sell har as stand-alone mesh though too, as morphing Vickie into her wouldn'd fly. Eric - I don't know why the V3 injections work - she doesn't have any of the blank channels that V3 has, most of the "regular" (not mine) morph channels have a "-a" at the end of them too.
