Subject: Just wondering...

I wonder why Renderosity enforces the 'suggested' image size and the number of images per day, but not the 'suggested' thumbnail size. It sure makes for a long download time per page , for me anyway... Stan

Wow...they don't. Man I've jumped through hoops to get the "correct" thumbnail size. Well no more, I tell you, no more. I'm mad as heck and I'm not going to take it anymore. Let my people go. Ooooppsss got carried away there.

I've seen 'em as high as 75k - maybe a few higher yet.

Something really stinks here, I been turn down because my image file was just a tad over...now you tell me all the trouble I've had keeping my thumbnail exact was for nothing, what's up with that?

With all the things on the to-do list, the site programmers just haven't been able to get to this one yet. While we all work hard to try and ensure all "sensical" things get done there just isn't enough time in the day :( The reason for limits holding on the actual gallery image is I'm sure quite apparent. Each one of those could rack up into several megs in a heartbeat! For now I encourage you to just enjoy the lack of rigidness in this and to not abuse it. We do appreciate everyone's efforts and thumbnail wrestling!

I can't upload my tumbnails if they are too big...no more than 15k

firefly ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 10:04 PM

Yep, the thumbnail size has been corrected Czarinaqueen so the 15k limit is now in effect.

Great! I only hope now that it won't deter the new postings of those who previously used large thumbnails. I haven't checked it out yet, but it sure would be frustrating to spend the upload time for the pic and then have it negated due to the size of the thumbnail being too large. It would seem more logical for Renderosity to check both files for size before transferring. Or if that isn't possible, check the thumbnail size first. Yeah. That's it!
