Grim...apparently it fixes some bugs (like the program freezing occasionally in browser mode) and other stuff. It came out so soon after I bought PS 7.0 that I just upgraded, can't really compare to version 7.0...
Houma48,
What's the major problem with uninstalling and re-installing the program?...you probably could have done it in the time it's taken you to write your question and read and answer these replies.
;-)>
Cool down Grim. It's free. Either way, I'd hardly call PS 7 "faulty". When was the last time any software product was released with no bugs at all? (answer=never) The bugs fixes were for the most part for little things. In fact out of the list of fixes they provided there was only one on there that affected me directly and now, it's fixed.
I just find the attitude from Photoshop saying"just reload PS" a "give-a-damn" attitude, out of character. Never expected it from what I thought was a "Top Notch Professional Organization". I now see that this attitude has infected even the BEST. I'm glad I have Paint Shop Pro as an alternative. It's not the Lexus of the bunch but a Camary is fine for what I do.
"just reload PS" a "give-a-damn" attitude, out of character. Never expected it from what I thought was a "Top Notch Professional Organization". Yeah...I understand where you're coming from - especially when they charge so much for the software in the fist place! I guess after all my past harddrive dramas I'm just so used to reinstalling my software that it seems like second nature to me now! ~ but you are right you shouldn't have to do that for a (so-called) simple upgrade! :-)>
Nobody's perfect, so there will always be problems when introducing new software. The way you use Photoshop could be entirely different to the way I use it, and a certain combination of events could possibly crash it. It's not possible to predict every possible permutation without letting it into "the wild" so to speak. That said, to release an unfinished version to publicly beta test a product is a heinous crime. One which I know Microsoft and Corel do regularly. (Incidentally, Microsoft do not have bugs, they have "undocumented features" - yeah, right). That said, if a product regularly crashes or does not do what it claims, you are quite within your rights to return the goods, no matter what the licence or the shop you bought it from say.

The weird thing is (btw Hi! ladynimue) ~ is that although you could connect to the web for update checks from the program itself, doing so never alerted me to the new update to version 7.01...I had to find out here in the forum too! :-)>This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Hi, Anybody have luck with upgrading to PS 7.01 without having to reload software? Thanks Matt
