Dear friends of the forum, I have the program Ray Dream Studio 5.5, the predecessor of Carrara, and for what I am informed of Carrara many of the functions are same, and other surely that not, my question is centered in this topic, I need to design gear for my characters (especially capes and feminine gear of great size especially the skirts), the order is that if some could explain I eat up to make them or he knows a tutorial that he can help me they will be infinitely grateful. The FreeForm modeler works well fot this. Just bring your obj file into RDS and build claoths around it.

Dear friend willf thank you for their prompt answer, this serves me of a lot for my work with RDS 5.5, I have just gotten off the link that you indicated me, although I didn't still read that of this forum it is surely what I am looking for. This is another screen shot from RDS (had to fire up the old computer). What I like about RDS is the way you can work with windows. You want to import a copy of the original poser obj geometry (from the Poser Geometries folder) into the Mesh Modeler. I import the item and retain the individual body part names (not one piece) and then delete the parts I'm not working with. Don't move the objects center point. Then save your file & quite RDS to clean-up all the unneeded information from the deleted parts out of RDS memory. Then open the file and at this point I normally scale the object up by 1000% so it's easier to work with the camera controls and can be seen in the Assembly room better. You may want to leave it at its original size but RDS uses hundredths of an inch and Poser uses thousandths of an inch for control. Next, I add Free Form models as needed and start to model the skirt or "thing" around the object file. When done, delete the Poser mesh and export your model as obj. Import into Poser at around 10% and it should be close to where you need it to be in the Poser scene. You can fine-tune size and position in Poser. The magnets in Poser are great for adding deformations to the mesh. Hope that's a start, it's been awhile since I used Poser.

I admit him a thing, I have had RDS for enough time, however I don't thoroughly know it to take out him the whole profit, the indication that you give me but it arrives, it clarifies a little but my ideas, although I have other patternmakers, Rhino, Amapi, and some other one that at this time I forget RDS the first one that I arrive to my hands, was and with the one that made some interesting experiences, but this it is a specific topic that doesn't explain to you in the manuals, I reiterate him my gratefulness for the contribution =) Rodolfo Ciminelli
