The working title for this one is "Unemployment" I've been staring at it for two days and can't figure out what little tweak it needs. Any thoughts?

maybe more contrast between the foreground and the backfround? (they are both brown-ish)

I agree with the depth contrast. You could scale down the material in the background and/or make it darker. the edges on the items in the foreground look 2D.

pigeons? sorry..don't know what made me say that..it's a good start..maybe if you had folks around him rendered more realisticly..to contrast employment with unemployment..just an idea..

Pakled, that's a very interesting concept. I've always been interested and amazed how differnet people visualize the same theme (thought, idea) and bring it out in their art. You see, Claymor didn't see that in his rendition, but, his rendition made you conceive of that image with other additives. Most interesting! Nice work Claymor!

It's good! suggestions: get rid of the bluish watery thing between the tear and the eye. give the eyes their real color. do you need the "trees"?

well, must confess I had an idea for a Poser/Bryce picture sort of like this..using Relativity, the Escher painting (the whole things' available as a prop), with the Poser mannikins sitting and walking around, using laptops, and a Skeleton being escorted out with a Box by two Security mannikins, representing unemployment...probably get around to it once the garage gets on this side of 60..and I learn how to spell mannikin..'course if anyone wants to do it first..I just like the idea..;)

I like the concept, but I agree with you about the fact that it's missing something. Here's some suggestions: You could make a burning red light flash out of his mouth and eyes. A bit like the lightrays coming out of Agent smith before he gets destroyed by NEO in The Matrix or those lightrays during the transformation of princess Fiona(sp?) in Shrek. But then Red. A less blocky (higher res) texture on the shirt would be better. I agree with Madmax about the contrast between the foreground and the background. And if you make the red burning eyes you should try if it looks better with the blue tears or without. Personally I think it'll look better with the tears.

Looks good. Just adjust the stuff in the background, like the other folks said. The figure in the foreground looks great. Maybe add some bumps and roughness to the suit. As for the red eye idea, the guy is unemployed and is unhappy. Want to go with showing a feeling of helplessness. The metal stuff in the foreground, should be more rusty and pitted looking. The other thing is, if you have been staring at the picture for 2 days, do this. Walk away and don't look at it for a few days and see what ideas you get. Don't be in such a hurry to rush it out unless you are on a deadline.

Uhhh... The title would make this idea obvious. Have the statue guy by the curb with some cardboard boxes full of office supplies and the trash. But then again, that idea probably would deviate from what you're going with.
