Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 14 12:36 pm)
Just out of curiousity, are you bringing the image into photoshop to put another image behind it. If thats the case it would be easier to use whatever background you wanted to use and then import it into poser, which would still allow you to manipulate the model and you could change the background whenever you wanted. If I've completly misconstrued your purpose for doing this I apologize. If I haven't go to file, import, import backgound and your image will be behind the model. Bill
Hi magestyk7, Here is a step by step for getting your Poser people into Photoshop, In Poser: Click File Click Export Click Image (a Save As Window will open) In the Save As Box: Find the folder you wish your image file to be saved to In the File Name Box enter a name for your file In the "Save As Type Box": scroll down and click on Tiff (.*TIF) (or in the photoshop format as Poppi suggested) As a safety feature, Before you close out Poser, Save your Poser .pz3 file Do that by clicking on File Click Save As (a Save Document As Window will open) name your file and click save. That way you can always come back to the Poser file later if you need to make changes. Once you have saved your .pz3 file, Close Poser and Open Photoshop Open the file as you would any Image file Once in Photoshop do as PhilC suggested. To the above steps if you want to import your Poser figure into Photoshop for post work. If however, you are just wanting to create a background, follow Manikin Flesh' suggestions. Hope this helps :) ladynimue
It depends on what type of background you have, but an easy way to do it is to use any solid color for the background, like white/gray/black, make the render in a separate window and save it. In photoshop, duplicate the background layer, then using the magic wand, click on the background color and press shift-delete. This will leave you with a separate layer with a transparent background. mac
Mac, I find that often leaves a darn halo that takes forever to get rid of. Here's what I do. Import background pic into poser. Pose my scene, but render over black-- why? because too often the lights or something will make the background too darn pixelated to use. Save the render as a Tiff. Take into either PS or PSP. Go to Layer view, go to Channels, the last channel is Alpha, select, hit CTRL. Go to Layers and add new Layer from copy. Your second layer is up there with a good alpha mask. Select your background picture, copy, select background on your render-- the one that isn't masked-- and paste. Your background will be behind your picture on a separate layer and you can adjust and post from there. I try to keep at least one clean layer copy in case I screw up mightily so I use a lot of layers. [The above was described step by step for PS but PSP is similar] Emily

I was wondering is there anyway i can save a render from poser 4 and open it up on photoshop 7 like a layer? That way I dont have to use the lasso tool and cut around the model. Also What size do you recomend i save the image? Any other tips are welcome... Thanks for your time.
