Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 22 10:18 pm)
I've been asking for this for a LONG time! It looks great and I would happily pay money for it. On request would be to make sure it fits the default Poser horse as well as the one with your Arabian morph.

Looks great - I'd be in the market ! I've been hoping for something in saddlery that ISN'T modern. Been toying with the idea of some Dark Ages sort of scenes..maybe using those great new Vikings from DAZ. They didn't always travel by ship..so some horse tack that could pass for that period would be MOST appreciated
Whew! Looks as if I'm on the right track. Thank you all for replying. The stirrups will be added. :)
I was intending to make sure it fitted the standard P4 horse, yes. I'll check it with the Ultimate Horse breed morph sets as well. I shouldn't look out for it any time soon, though, there's a lot of work still to do!
Freyfaxi, I've been looking at the horse stuff they put together for Lord of the Rings, thinking to do some 'inspired by' stuff for Poser. I've started with a tack/morph/mane/tail set based on Arwen's horse- not an exact copy, but something with a similar feel. If I ever get on to the Riders of Rohan, they'd probably be okay for Dark Ages with a fantasy twist.
Thank you everyone who's added further comments. It wouldn't be too hard to do stirrups as a separate conforming figure. Two seperate headpieces, bit and no bit, may also be possible- time allowing. I thought something along these lines for the stirrups- if I can figure out how to do the texture mapping for an object that shape!

This is the tack set so far. It will have poseable tassels (I didn't like the ones I'd done, so I'm reworking them), and some nice fancy embroidered, woven and beaded texture sets.
Now the questions on which I'd like some opinions, please:
Traditional Bedouin tack, on which this set is based, consists of a very simple bitless bridle or halter with a chain noseband (called a reshmeh, I believe), and a saddle that is basically a pad held on with a girth strap and a breast strap. Not many people still ride in this fashion. Would people prefer to see the addition of a bit and stirrups as well?
Do you like it? Would you actually pay money for it??
