You got much more work on the water. When have you ever seen a water falls with no mist? Add so mist. You might really want to look at you tree scales. Do you know what I mean whan I say 2 point perspective? It's the effect of say railway tracks converging in the distance. It's a system of drawing too. Your trees violate those rules. trees futhest away should be smallest and tress closest should be largest to make it look proper. One of your trees is grown in the water. Not very likely.

Glad you're not shy MP, LOL! The aren't waterfalls per se. Those are bushes... Only 1 tree. I do need some scale help, obviously. It needs light, the water needs a lot of work. Tell me about the 2 point perspective. MP, how would you re-do this scene? With no postwork... I appreciate your help - you're not makin' me cry yet.

Hm,first:change the rocks, they don't look realistic in that way;second:the positioning of the plants can be improved, vary their sizes, put in more plants and add some ground, this kind of plants do not grow directly on solid rocks.Third work on the water surface, add more ripples where necessary and some fog above the waterfall.Last point:change the position of the camera,it is too "central".The whole scene looks too symetric to me;asymetry should enforce the dynamic of the composition. One tipp to the end :keep on working !:-)

Oh two point perspective. That easy draw a dot dead center. draw lines from the outside toward that dot. It's like a star pattern really. Eveything has to fall on those lines to look real. Just like the rail way lines. they converge int he distance. So things close to the view make larger thing in the distance make smaller. Here a quick link. http://www.ider.herts.ac.uk/school/courseware/graphics/two_point_perspective.html This is a old idea. Centuries old as a matter of fact. I was thinking the other way from the samples here but it's proper closer is bigger, father is smaller. The other this too is the whole scale you got here is wrong. I think it would look better huge. Like smaller trees. Like make those hills liik likr a mountain. Make them rougher more rugged. Turn the mesh size up a bit there and add some roughtness. Then I'd just add mist to hide the water a bit. Here I'll show you mine try to find it. It's not perfect I made it in a hurry... Notice the scale? Notice I didn't follow my own advice? That's what I mean i was in a hurry.

I'm very appreciative of all the help i'm getting here. And MP - thank you so much for your render and the link. You're a tough one, but I think it shows you care about new people learning 3D. And Sharen - you are always so darling in your comments! Now, about the terrain and rocks... It's a desert, I can't picture what desert rocks look like. I'm trying to get that mixture of dried, cracked mud while keeping a sandy look. And the water... these are Foresters models and I wish to show them in their best light. I've noticed that a lot of waterfalls are mostly white rushing foam. I wanted these water models to look more 'meandering', lazy and passive. More like run-off after a heavy rain. It's very important to me to get this scene right, so please, don't worry about hurting my feelings. Learning isn't always pretty, LOL!

If your having problems getting rock to look right then use real rock. Click the faq'a up there and go down towards . Forget that I'll find the link for you... Go here and grab the real seamless rock textures. There real big so they will work really well but you got to make a bump channel also using the same texture. But it's easy you just load the same picture in the bump channel spot. You can also add more bump channels to the picture to make it look extra course if you want. You need more polys in your hills. Load them in the terrain editor (edit terrain) again and turn up the mesh to 512 X 512 or bigger but don't go too nuts.

Wow! Thank you! Nice textures... Why didn't I think of that? I have a ton of textures, but no rocks like yours. This is a great start. I've been looking for an image (google) of the same type as mine to work from. I'm not having any luck, but i'll keep searching. I wanted to use my imagination - now I know I need an image. Thank you MP!

Somebody posted just here a few days ago a place to get insperational pictures. You might want to find that posting and look there.
