Check this site. It's a FTP server with USGS Digital Elevation Maps. Import them into Bryce and you've got your terrains.-- erlik

Err, more precisely this link. The three directories are three scales.-- erlik

This one's got some grayscales of Australia....a little bit of touchup is nessisary around the edges, but they are pretty useful.Ok... I'm annoyed... I went to the USGS thing and it said that the stuff was now available elsewhere for free... So I go there. And guess what? They wanted a pretty penny for the stuff. Free? Somebody needs to give the USGS site some feedback on that one. GRRRR! But it was nice to try.

Paul, which one said it was free elsewhere? Aaaah... I just opened Anchorage in 15-minute stuff, and the tar.gzip file were there. Sorry. I wonder when they did change that. This is apparently free DEM data on New Zealand: http://www.geographx.co.nz/Downloads.htm This is something called DEM generator, free: http://www.newcyber-3d.com/world/products/en_nc02.htm For geocomm: http://data.geocomm.com/dem/demdownload.html click on the map for a particular state and then on the part of the state, by name. When you get to the page where it says Add to cart, just click on the Normal download icon. It is free, the fee is for burning the data on a CD which will be shipped to you.

Ahh... Ok... It didn't seem all that clear. I because when I went there it looked like they wanted $1000+ for something, and I'm like whaaaa? So it's still possible, huh? Ok, then. I'll have to look again.
