Subject: Apophysis problem

Wesley1 ( ) posted Sun, 23 March 2003 at 12:43 AM · edited Sun, 12 January 2025 at 9:41 PM

When copying an Apophysis image into UF3 I receive numerous compiling errors detailing elements that can't be found in "enr-flame". I downloaded the full set of UF formulas today without resolving the "enr-flame" error. Perhaps is there a setting in the UF3 or Apophysis options that I need to change? I also uninstalled and reinstalled Apophysis without resolving the problem. From what I can see Apophysis puts up some beautiful images, but unfortunately I can't do anything with them. Please help if you have had similar problems and what you did to export the images successfully into UF3. Thanks, Wesley1

Wesley1, did you download the whole formula collection?

Thanks, Sofie, for your response. I downloaded the complete formula collection. After I copy a UPR to UF3 it finds the enr-flame file. After I click ok the warnings I receive indicate errors trying to compile and then dozens of "cannot locate parameter" messages. What I end up with is a solid block of color. Both programs, UF3 and Apophysis seem to work normally in every other regard. Could it be some setting in the options of either program that are basic to the rendering to occur that I may have to change?

If you haven't done so already you'll need to download the full formula collection. In Ultra Fractal select "Update Public Formulas" from the Options menu. In the dialog that appears make sure that "Full formula collection" is selected an click OK (you need to be already connected to the Internet for this to work). Now in Apophysis go to the "Flame UPR" tab of the Options dialog (from the Tools menu) and change "enr3.ucl" where it appears to "enr.ucl". Hopefully then everything should work OK.

Sofie, thanks so much for your recommendation. I also discovered that UF had moved ahead to 3.01. At this point the images from Apohysis are loading without compiling errors of any kind rather quickly. Wes
