Yes and no. You can pretty much move them into whatever named folders you choose but a cr2 or pp2 file will more than likely be looking for the geometries in specific folders. If you move your things around you'll have to edit the cr2/pp2/whatever to reference your new folder. Personally, I find it easier to leave the Geometries folders alone and do any reorganization in the Figures, Pose, Hair, Hands, Faces etc folders.

JPG files go in RuntimeTextures, unless they extract to a specific folder, such as RuntimeTexturesSamTherapys for example.

Beats me. :) It would generally be obvious if they're character textures, so I can only guess they're textures for tiling or backdrops.

Here is a question that has probably been ask a million times, so here is one million and one. :^) I am installing some items I have downloaded and I want to move them around so they make sense, to me. To do this I am uninstalling the files into a dumby directory and then moving them into the downloads section of the default file structure. With the exception of files that go into the geometries directory and textures, only ecause those directories were not created on the install. What I would like to know is can I customize those directories, so I can group items together by catagory. I know I can in the downloadsRuntime directories, but wht about in the RuntimeGeometries or Runtimetextures directories. For example: I have the following folder in my directory structure RuntimeGeometriesAdR & RuntimeGeometriesDudley both contain the information for automobiles. I would like to condense them into a folder called autos. Can I do this without screwing something up?
