Grim, I agree with you in sentiment (thou i wouldn't use those words) and have limited my posting lately because it seems less affective.
Really I AM working on the backroom and hope to have a way to allow forum members to have a "mini gallery" to show off Photoshop. Unfortunatly I am swamped with RW (thou as an excuse, THAT SUCKS) and i want you to continue to add to this forum and NOT "take your marbles and go somewhere else".
If all the good Photoshop members flees the community, then this forum will remain only to ask questions on "postwork" and other Poser related issues.
Please bear with me, together we can make the 3D realm take notice.

A vulgar, extremist post like that is an open invitation to dismissal of the attacker's proposals. You didn't get your Photoshop gallery, so you throw an ugly tantrum, attacking Poser enthusiasts and Renderosity staff alike with "worst wishes" and pornographic fantasy. I thought the Photoshop gallery was a great idea, and would still love to see it happen, but let's face it, there wasn't exactly a groundswell of support for the idea from the general membership. I don't understand why this forum doesn't get ten times the traffic it does, but that's the way it is. You probably just killed any possibility of a Photoshop-specific gallery happening, at least for now.
i still think the 2D gallery is a fine place to post. Neither the photoshop or the 2D forums have that many posts, especially in comparison to some of the 3D forums on this site, which suggests a much more limited interest in the medium/software. "Online Graphic Artists Community my arse." It is one, it just doesn't cater to our needs as much as it does others. "...this forum will remain only to ask questions on "postwork" and other Poser related issues." Actually, I rarely see anything regarding postwork in this forum. There's the occasional texture question, but hey, if someone wants help in painting their hair on their poser image, take the props, they feel photoshop can do a much better job than poser can in the field. "The Poser Mafia, the Bryce Regiment heck, whole damn 3d Gestapo wins out again. Joy! Three cheers for the Marketplace! Meanwhile a very powerful and expensive 2d application posts alongside Microsoft Paint caterpillars and filtered renders of peoples pet cats." Well, the original url of this site was www.poserforum.com (which they don't use as of last year anymore), so I'm sure you can understand that this was never ever meant to be catered to 2D and photoshopo users, and never will be. Honestly, sites like deviantart.com and epilogue.net (though i dont know much about the latter, only s3econd hand knowledge) are better for posting artwork. Deviantart is almost entirely 2D work, and they have entire forums and galleries dedicated to even Pixel Art! Still, the forums blow booty, and that's where i think the renderosity 2d, photroshop, and photography galleries excel. They aren't large, but they are tight knit. As for the 3D realm taking notice, I've always thought that it'd be a waste of time to worry about it. Instead of worrying about this stuff, let's just continue to post kickass work. If they notice, hazaa, 'bout time. If not, their loss I say, why should I be unhappy if people I don't even know are missing out? Point being, I just wish everyone would stop worrying about this stuff. There were requests posted for a photoshop gallery, and honestly, there wasn't much of a response to the requests from members. It was basically a few people that thought it would be cool, and made repeat requests in the same threads. If it really was wanted, people'd have been all over the idea, but, they weren't. Blame the people, not rosity. They even created a Vector and Zbrush forum with enough pressure. It didn't take one try though. I remember requesting a vector and zbrush forum at least 3 or 4 times, and we finally got them. You won't get it your first try Grim, so either accept the fact that it didn't happen the first try, or try again. Shouting curses and calling the mods and admins names certainly will not help your cause. Be fairly certain that the big mods have already seen this post, and taken note of it. If you say "I don't care what they think", then don't care if they don't give you what you want either. In the end, the zbrush forum is o k a y, though zbrushcentral.com is very publically the place to go. The vector forum, a lot of the big vector artists here ended up switching entirely over to deviantart, so that forum and the representation of vector work in the galleries pretty much dried up. There are places to go that are entirely photoshop related. Renderosity isn't and never ever in a million years will be one of those places.
Well, I could name a few dickhead mods around here, starting with ClintH...but we won't go there.
I will continue to post PS work, regardless. I am bemused/bewildered that when the PS gallery was proposed, a whole bunch of people - termites - came out of the woodwork to say it wasn't a good idea, but without any good reason to back up their hollow claims. Then they scuttled away, gratified their 3d world would not be corrupted.
Duhhhwe dont need anymore galleries. DerrrIll get confused. Im an idiot and cant navigate.
Most of these were people who don't even know what PS can do, illustrated by a particularly ignorant comment about clip art, to name but one.
But most insulting of all is that a proposal was put forward by Renderosity members and admin failed to communicate with members regarding the issue. After all, the Community Improvements forum is about communication between staff and members, ideas and wants, for the improvement of this so-called community. If it is a bad or impractical idea, a proper explination should be given. Not silence.
As for my little tantrum? I guess you could call it the verbal equivalent to Poser, which is where grown men and women dress up virtual Barbie. Now that's juvenile.
Sincerely Sour,
Grimtwist.
Quick, someone mention David Ho!
looking past the termites.... How many people actually came forth and said "YEAH! I vote for it!" I know there were a few, but dude, there just wasn't near enough support for it was all. No explanation was needed, because not too many people came forth to support the idea in the first place. The idea of a GIMP gallery was put forth. GIMP is extremely good software for the Linux, essentially giving a lot of what photoshop does, and most of what PSP does, for free. The idea was put forth, and a few people came forth and said it'd be great. Well, a few isn't enough. Looking at past requests, many have had to've been made a number of times before they were granted.Like I said, instead calling ClintH and other mods dickheads, regardless of what they said, saying shit like that makes you look extremely juvenile. My best guess would be there's almost zero chance of a photoshop-only gallery coming now, specifically because of this discussion right here in the photoshop forum. David Ho is a fantastic artist, who incidently, happens to use Poser, a LOT, in his work. He doesn't do virtual barbies... seriously though, if they don't wanna put up a photoshop only gallery, big whoop. Are you actually pleased with the renderosity galleries anyways? Grim, you and I both know there are better places for galleries, where you will get a more receptive audience who feels the same about Photoshop as you do. You ain't gonna get that here. The horse is dead dude.
Yeah, it's dead, agreed. I've had my rant now, so I can lay the idea to rest. I just think a response from admin would have been nice to show that community participation is here is welcomed. Anyway, can't say I didn't try... *PS: You may have missed the point of my David Ho (who is great, yes) remark. It's just that, whenever Poser is criticized, someone will inevitably shout: What about David Ho!" Which never ceases to amuse me. Falsely Faithful, Grimtwist.
The only mod I called a dickhead was ClintH, at least get that right. An opinion formed from a series of unpleasant dealings with him, and one that I stand by. Obviously airing dirty laundry in public is unprofessional and unnecessary but, hey, I know my character flaws. Anyway, I'm done with this thread now. See you round the forums.
I feel a little sick... I spend a lot of time doing Poser AND Photoshop. You may have zillions of dollars to spend on paying live models, but I can't so I use Poser as a base. If you haven't spend a minute in watching the pics in the galleries, take a tour. For exemple, start with 3dcommune, you can even look at my pictures (in the Bryce gallery) and even post some insult under it. Feel free. At least, you will see what I think about gestapo... I suppose that the fact Photoshop is used in porn postwork to produce fake pictures of naked celebrities doesn't bother you ? As I use both programs, I'm certainly some kind of bicybersexual...
"this site is nothing more than a Poser Porn flea market for horny teen males with allowances to burn, and permanent hard-ons to appease. Oh yes, I can just see the cum-encrusted keyboards. " thats just sick and an example of ignorance. Im a 15 year old teenager that uses poser and i cant stand it when there are nude pictures around. its just embarrassing and makes me not want to be able to use this site in front of my family. I even have the nudity filter on.
Come on Guys, (You know who you are, thou you shall remain "Nameless") there's no need for name-calling, especially terms used above.
It never was a "us" and "them", and shouldn't become one. I allow "ranting" as long as it stays within the TOS (because i feel "who am i to judge what's right - what's wrong"), but if you cross the line, you will be cut from the team.

Look I don't post here oftem, but I will say that whenever I have had a problem I do get a great amount of help. So thanks for that, BUT these next comments go to Grimtwist... ClintH is NOT anything AT ALL but nice and helpful. With EVERYTHING. I have never had a bad experience with him. If you had it mighta been your attitude, just a thought. You seem to have a major chip on your shoulder. As for Poser, BACK IT UP! I use Poser, and I use Photoshop to do most everything else in an image. I rarely use Poser clothing, I paint it. I NEVER use Poser hair, I paint it. Just because someone uses Poser doesn't make them inferior to YOU! My personal opinion is (and no offense to the mod's here) as soon as this thread started the name calling of other Mod's it should have been locked. Grimtwist, it just shows your ignorance if you are willing to generalize and belittle people over the software they use, not over who they are or what they are actually trying to accomplish with that software. My 2 cents, Gina
Wow - umm...Grim why would you call me that? Just curious. If the shoe fits I will more than gladly wear it but to be 100% honest I have no clue why you would call me that. Care to elaborate since you brought it up? Clint

Well, pathetic admin conveniently ignored our request for a Photoshop gallery (surprise, surprise), which of course confirms my theory that this site is nothing more than a Poser Porn flea market for horny teen males with allowances to burn, and permanent hard-ons to appease. Oh yes, I can just see the cum-encrusted keyboards.
The Poser Mafia, the Bryce Regiment heck, whole damn 3d Gestapo wins out again. Joy! Three cheers for the Marketplace! Meanwhile a very powerful and expensive 2d application posts alongside Microsoft Paint caterpillars and filtered renders of peoples pet cats.
Look out Renderosity, when people compare you to Elfwood, things must be grim.
Online Graphic Artists Community my arse.
Worst Wishes,
Grimtwist.
Poser in an addiction. Vicky wont kiss you goodnight. Find real people to love.
