Hi- if anyone would like to take on a project- I'd really like a morphing mens dress shirt for Vicky. One with morphs to have buttoned or unbuttoned, and that can be opened ni different ways. I may not be explaining myself very clearly, but every man here knows what kinda shirt I'm talking about :) thank and my $$ is there for ya :) Geo

dialyn ( ) posted Sun, 23 March 2003 at 10:03 PM

I would bet all the women know what you're talking about too. I'd like to see something similar.

shadownet ( ) posted Wed, 26 March 2003 at 4:50 PM

I am hoping to do a shirt like this as part of my GypsyRose line. My problem is I am not a modeler. I can make the morphs, but until I can find a someone interested in workig with me on the modeling side I am sort of stuck. So, hey, if there are any modelers out there that would like to team up on some projects, let me know. Rob

JetM ( ) posted Sun, 06 April 2003 at 3:36 PM

Definitely! Especially if it could go down to about mid-thigh, both opened and buttoned. Course, in that case it might need to be 2 models... The one by wusamuh is close but it's a doesn't have the look of a men's shirt.

dialyn ( ) posted Sun, 06 April 2003 at 3:44 PM

Well, I'd like one a little less pricey than wusamuh, but I'd pay more if it had those features. Now all we need is have someone actually make it. :(

dialyn ( ) posted Sun, 06 April 2003 at 5:30 PM

I don't mean that I would pay more that what wusamuh charges, but I'd pay more than my usual. Sigh. I don't have that much discretionary money to throw around. I don't pay that much for my own clothes!

shadownet ( ) posted Fri, 11 April 2003 at 3:23 PM

Well, I have found a modeler to work with me. Can someone post a picture of the type of shirt wanted. I'd rather ask now and know I have it righty, than assume I know and find out later I was thinking of something different. Rob

I can't speak for geoegress, but the Gap has the kind of style shirt I was thinking about. This graphic is more or less the kind of thing....just plain white would work fine for me but this isn't my thread. I'm offering this up as a discussion point of reference rather than saying this is what the shirt should absolutely look like.

shadownet ( ) posted Fri, 11 April 2003 at 3:50 PM

Sounds good, let's see what the others think. :O)

dialyn ( ) posted Fri, 11 April 2003 at 4:06 PM

I'm guessing I don't need to mention that the shirt wouldn't fit tightly on Vicky since the idea is that Vicky is wearing a man's shirt (at least my mental image is of Vicky wearing a man's shirt almost like it was a nighshirt or a dress). Again, I'm not speaking for geoegress. There's a commercial on in the U.S. right now about a woman who is lounging around and she is eating cottage cheese for breakfast and they talk about her cottage cheese thighs (which of course are athletic and perfect in the commercial...she never met cellulite). Anyway, because of the curve of the shirt tails, the sides are higher than the front and back of the shirt, so her legs are more revealed from the side than from the front or back. In the good old days, when it was fashionable to be subtle about sex instead of blungeoning people over the head with it, the vision of a woman wearing a man's shirt gave the impression she may have spent the night with him and was borrowing his shirt because she hadn't any sleepwear of her own. They were innocent and yet incredibly sexy times when imagination was more valued than it is now.

shadownet ( ) posted Fri, 11 April 2003 at 4:26 PM

I know what you mean. Its the age of the "whole cow". But I'm out of step with the times. I like steak, but not the whole cow crammed down my throat at one time. :O)

dialyn ( ) posted Fri, 11 April 2003 at 4:35 PM

:)

geoegress ( ) posted Fri, 11 April 2003 at 5:26 PM

dialyn yup "Anyway, because of the curve of the shirt tails, the sides are higher than the front and back of the shirt, so her legs are more revealed from the side than from the front or back." But just a bit more then the shirt you showed :) not much more :) geo :)

dialyn ( ) posted Fri, 11 April 2003 at 5:36 PM

See, I told you it wasn't just the guys who knew what you were talking about. Wearing the shirt of a guy you have a fondness for is kind of a common female fantasy. I could go into the scent and what not but that comes under the heading of "too much information." :)

shadownet ( ) posted Fri, 11 April 2003 at 6:25 PM

Okay, it sounds like I am on the same page as the rest of you. I've got a couple items already in the works, when I get those done I will take a stab at something like this.

JetM ( ) posted Fri, 11 April 2003 at 8:49 PM

I'm with dialyn all the way here, even to where she was going with scent :)

BluesPadawan ( ) posted Wed, 16 April 2003 at 1:10 PM

Incredibly sexy idea...match the shirt up on V3 with some high heeled shoes and some retro poses....some really kewl images could appear! Can't wait to see some work like this!

dialyn ( ) posted Wed, 16 April 2003 at 8:14 PM

Oh, high heeled shoes are such a cliche. Don't we have enough of those silly things? Think about the woman, cuddling into her man's shirt, padding around barefoot on a thick tufted carpet. Comfortable and sexy. I wish we could get off the track of the ankle breakers as being sexy....they just plain hurt. I think bare feet are incredibly sexy...yup, even men's bare feet if they have a nice shape to them and don't have too much hair on the toes. ;) Leave the super high heels to the male cross dressers and fetish people that seem to need pain to be sexy. Let the woman do something original with her feet...like be comfortable for a change, and you might be surprised she looks sexier than in the back breakers. Really. I shouldn't bother. Too many people just want to do the same old thing around here. No wonder the graphics are in such a rut.

BluesPadawan ( ) posted Wed, 16 April 2003 at 8:20 PM

Well, I can certainly see your point Dialyn, but if you caught the latter part of my statement about the retro poses such as Momcat has just done...perfect for high heels or bare feet. It was only a thought. There are plenty of shoes out, just a fashion statement.

geoegress ( ) posted Wed, 16 April 2003 at 8:40 PM

Dialyn- to me sexy is in the attitude- the comfort level- to be comfortable enought to put on his shirt while she waits for him to return :) In that she dosn't have to be in a pinup pose- - just being comfortable sitting on the couch reading a book- or looking out the window. all these things in that kinda shirt are sexy too me :) just my opinion :) geo

Momcat ( ) posted Mon, 21 April 2003 at 7:04 AM

YES! I want this shirt as well. A nice big, comfy, mens shirt (one for V3 too please. I no longer use V2. She's a great model, I just haven't used her since). Dialyn: Yup...I know all about the smell thing. I can't tell you how many nights I slept in Hubby's shirts when he was out at sea in his Navy days.

geoegress ( ) posted Mon, 21 April 2003 at 5:58 PM

you ladies are the coolest :)

geoegress ( ) posted Wed, 14 May 2003 at 11:31 PM

Hi all- knowing that this will be sent email Any progress- havn't had a post here in a long time?

shadownet ( ) posted Thu, 15 May 2003 at 3:06 AM

As for me, the shirt is still on the drawing board. I had a run of computer problems that have set me back a bit. I still plan to do the shirt as soon as I wrap up the two projects I currently have in the works. I hope to have both of them done this month, then I can start on the shirt. :O)

geoegress ( ) posted Thu, 15 May 2003 at 3:57 PM

:) ok thanks :)

shadownet ( ) posted Wed, 04 June 2003 at 7:40 PM

file_51581.jpg

Okay, here is a start on the shirt. I know that it is off in some respects. But rather than me just going by my idea of what changes I think need to be made, I thought I'd get a little feedback from you folks here. So, based on this as a starting point, what changes need to be made for the next version to get it closer to what was requested. When we get the exact look nailed down for the mesh, I can start to work on making it function in Poser like we want it to.

geoegress ( ) posted Wed, 04 June 2003 at 8:10 PM

maby a little taper at the waist and a touch longer? also tuck in tails front and back?

shadownet ( ) posted Wed, 04 June 2003 at 8:12 PM

Not sure I understand what you mean by tuck in the tails, please explain further.

geoegress ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 10:46 AM

not "tuck in the tail" 'tuck-in tails' lol :) ever notice the front and back of dress shirts are a little longer the then sides, so you can tuck them into your pants and the shirt dosn't come untucked as easily during the day of sitting , standing and stretching. Maby one of the girls in this thread could model one of there hubbys shirts for us??? lol- with pants on ofcourse :)

geoegress ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 10:47 AM

ohhh- see the photo above :)

JetM ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 10:51 AM

Yeah, a rounded front and back, higher at the sides, like the pic above. Also, the overall look should be a bit bigger. Usually when a woman wears one of these things, she swallowed by it. That's part of the fun. Thanks for getting back to it!

shadownet ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 10:56 AM

file_51582.jpg

Ah, LOL! I got cha now. Yes, the skirt tails need to be longer in front and back and curved up on the sides. I have that one already jotted down in my notes for the guy modeling this shirt. I just wanted to make sure we are all on the same page. :O)

BTW, how do the cuffs on the sleeve look to you. To me they seemed a bit off, maybe too thick. What do you think of them? You can not see it in the first picture, since I did not post the back, but they are slit up the forearm like they should be. Hold up, let me post the back side of the sleeve/cuff and you can see for yourself.

shadownet ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 10:59 AM

One other things. I am planning on making this shirt for Michael, since it is a man's shirt, but having a version of it for Viki, that way I think it would fit her like a man's shirt really would since it would be sized to fit Michaels build. Does that sound right to you folks?

shadownet ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 11:03 AM

Hi JetM, Looks like we crossed posts, but our train of thoughts were running the same. Thanks also for the feedback back. I really want this to be what was requested, so the more I get the better my modeler, ckeri, and I can do on making the shirt.

geoegress ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 11:09 AM

yes shadownet, that sounds totally fantastic :) mike and vicky :) where the shirt sleve meets the cuff should not be solid- the sleve should be under it. a minor point- but it will look better, more sharp, like it's 2 pieces, which it is :)

shadownet ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 11:32 AM

Hey, that makes sense. I knew it didn't quite look right, but could not say exactly why. Thanks. :O)

shadownet ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 3:14 PM

file_51583.jpg

Okay, I tried resizing the shirt to fit Michael, which sort of worked - enough for this demo anyhow. Also I morphed the shape a bit, to try and get it more in line with what changes were needed. So, how does this look? Nothing got done on the cuff, so those are still needing rework, but how does the rest look? How's the length, the taper, etc.?

JetM ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 4:26 PM

Nice, very nice. The length looks good. I like how the cuffs look too big. That's what they do for real

shadownet ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 4:38 PM

Yes, I like that aspect of the cuff. It is the thickness and how the are attached that IMHO need a tad more work (see the earlier pic and geoegress comment). Okay, now for my next questions. Pockets and buttons can be really hard to do and get to work right in Poser. We can take a crack at it, building them into the mesh, or we can let the textures used on the shirt give the appearance of buttons and maybe a breast pocket. Willing to give the mesh way a try, if thats what is wanted. So what are your folks thoughts on this?

geoegress ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 5:17 PM

darn good question- I'd say let the pocket be by texture- but other may know better :) the shirt is really starting to take shape- thank you a whole bunch. :) I just noticed- the coller may have the same thing like the cuffs- should maybe be two parts? shadownet- you rock :)

shadownet ( ) posted Thu, 05 June 2003 at 6:03 PM

Thanks geo, the collar I think is okay on the original and appears to have been modeled as a seperate mesh. To size the original to fit Mike, I imported into the P5 cloth room, and some wierd things happened, the collar breaking apart being one of them so to keep that from happening, I weld it back. So, that is probably why it looks like it does in these latest pics. Nevertheless, I will keep your thoughts on it in mind, so that we end up with a really nice looking collar for the shirt. Okay, I am knocking off for now. Please keep that feedback rolling in, particularly if you folks see any more areas that need improving. Sort of a pain to go back and do that sort of thing after the shirt is made up. :O)

BrokenAngel9 ( ) posted Sat, 07 June 2003 at 12:22 PM

uhm..am I too late to second this wish? L looks damn good what you have done so far also remembers nights and evenings spent while been tucked into her man's shirt...

shadownet ( ) posted Sat, 07 June 2003 at 2:27 PM

Nah, not too late. Thanks for the good wishes. I have had some off and on computer probs, so I am taking a few days to overhaul my computers. Once I get that done, I will be back to work on this and some other stuff we have planned. Rob

Spanki ( ) posted Thu, 26 June 2003 at 12:52 AM

Looking real nice! As for sexy - Ignoring for the moment that most of my latest pics are pin-ups of nearly nekid women i high-heels - I agree that barefoot is sexy, as would be loose-fitting socks (adds to the overall comfort-mood-thing). Back to the shirt... it may be tough to model, but a 'roll up the sleeves one time' morph would be excellent. - Keith

Keith, it might be doable. I can certainly give it a try. Can you post an pic of what you would like it to look like so I have a clear idea what you want.

As for the shirt, it is progressing along somewhat slowly since I have a few other irons in the fire, but it is far enough along that I can inflict some bad art on you, so here is a sneak peek of things to come.

ohhh, sweet!!! can see her Vickys getting all anxious and stuff L

geoegress ( ) posted Thu, 26 June 2003 at 12:01 PM

wow- hot damn- lol- bounces in seat in anticipation :) looks like it's time to start making a dress shirt texture for it :)

shadownet ( ) posted Thu, 26 June 2003 at 12:06 PM

Well not to dampen anyones spirits but it still has a ways to go. This is still the demo mesh, I have not had a chance to convert the new mesh over yet. Then there are all those morphs to make up... It will be a little while yet. But hopefully not too long. :O)

JetM ( ) posted Thu, 26 June 2003 at 8:07 PM

I'm with BrokenAngel9 and geoegress. Even if it's a WIP, it's looking good! I think you've got 3 immediate sales at least :)

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 26 June 2003 at 8:09 PM

FOUR SALES!!! I love the shirt. It will be well worth the wait. :)
