Subject: Victoria3 in Poser5...Morph Problems

I finally got Victoria 3 to open in Poser 5, but discovered, I don't know how to inject/remove the morphs for her. I could really use some help! I'm trying to stay focused and not get too frustrated. I'm not sure how to begin to "nest" morphs in those parameter dials. Can someone give me the play-by-play on this subject? Thanks :o) Eric

Ok, you have all the updates, correct? I believe there have been two for all three basic and head and body. I'm not sure what you mean by nesting them. I just go to the INJ poses. I don't INJ the whole head together I INJ sectons of it and then sections of the body. It seems to be easier on the nerves-- not sure if it's quicker or not, but I think so. They go in where they are supposed to. Now, if you have the head dials open when you are INJ say, Features, then you don't see them until you click away and back. Is that what you mean by nesting or is it something more complicated? I would not try to work with a fully loaded V3, it's just too much for Poser 5 with any memory config-- I have 2G and it was too much for me. I use a nearly fully loaded head to generate characters, which I save with the InjectionPose Builder from DAZ. I don't do too many changes with the body cause I can't get clothing on her then. Okay, assuming you didn't move anything after installing V3, you should see a bunch of folders in the Pose library that start with an ! mark. The folders will have names like !V3 ____ INJ and !V3 ____ REM. INJ means it will inject that morph and REM will remove it. The !V3 All Morphs INJ folder has files that will add in all the morphs of a particular type, such as all the male morphs, all the eye morphs, etc. (Depending on which morph sets you bought, of course.) !V3 All Morphs REM will remove all of that morph type. There are also folders to add individual morphs. You can also look into those folders to see what morphs are contained in each file inside the !V3 All Morphs INJ folder. (I.e. all the individual morphs in your !V3 Eyes INJ folder will be loaded if you run the !V3 All Morphs INJAll Eyes.pz2 file.) To insert a morph, just select V3, go to the desired folder, and double click on the morph (or morph set.) That's it. (Boy, all that instead of saying "double click!") ;-) Some people are releasing character morph injection files so you can click on one file and get the same morph settings that the creator used. These are just MOR files that also inject the morphs at the same time. If anything needs clarifying, just holler.

Nesting is my word. When you install V3, you get a long string of Pose file folders + !V3 _____ I count 28 of them - all in the same level. I just used my file manager to move all the other INJ folders under !V3 All Morphs INJ and REM under REM. It shrinks that level of the subfolders. The catch is that the subgroup poses do not go straight to the !DAZ folder, they go the the individual morph poses and they go to !DAZ. Rob undid this for the All Head and All Body, but I don't think it was done for the subs. allChest etc. You move the individuals and the path is not the same as what is in the pose files. I just altered the paths in all of the INJ and REM poses that call multiple morphs to go straight to !DAZ. A bit repetative, but FIND/REPLACE - not much typing needed. The odd balls were the two Spandex and MaleSpandex - they have no morphs in !DAZ, they just call a bunch of other Spandex morphs. So you just get the "I can't find it" message. I put a // in front of the line. Silly morphs anyway. The deal is, it was a mistake to have them in All INJ or All REM to begin with. These poses already call their submorphs as individuals. What is needed is a pose to make the Spandex and MaleSpandex dials in BODY visible. These two are actually ERC master dials, not really morphs anyway.

Poser 5 lets you nest folders in the Library. Another handy feature is 'the group the morphs' and collapse the groups you are not using. It means you can Remove morphs, save the cr2, and not really have to use DialCleaner to make the empty morph channels invisible - just collapse their groups.
