Hi,djnimby , You may want to experiment with making the terrain solid by selecting "solid" from thedrop list under the grid resolution selector in the terrain editor first Then in the materials editor there is a little drop menu at the top of the editor that gives you some shading options, normal , blend transparency, fuzzy, and light, try selecting "Light" from that menu and set the diffuse color to the color you want it to glow, thats a start but from there you can try different tuextures to drive other channels. there is a preset in the complex effects library called "Greenlit" that might give you another starting point. hope this helps. In Bryce you can give an object the "Light" property, ans it will always be fully bright regardless of how it is illuminated; but it won't illuminate other things. That is because Bryce does not have radiosity because radiosity makes render times several times longer.

You can fake radiosity though.. create a low-intensity radial light, adjust the falloff (ranged falloff) to where you want it, and put it inside the mountain. Then select the mountain, go to material editor, and in the same dropdown list as the Light choice uncheck "cast shadows". That'll let the light shine through. You'll have to play with it to get the effect exactly how you want it, but it's pretty useful. Unfortunately, there's no way to set selective lights just yet.. maybe in Bryce 5? =) Rosh
