I saw a new (to me at least) of making quality b&w's from color scans or digital images in this months issue of PCPhoto. I played with the technique on an image I had from the model shoot I did a couple of months ago. This is the image. The link is to PCPhoto. Hey I get that magazine too....haven't had the chance to look at it yet...but I did just go over to request some info. I've always like the look of hand-tinted b&w photos and I've actually have one in my gallery done in PS...here. I like this Michael. I think that regardless if you do it digitally or by hand in the traditional way it needs a subtle hand. When the color is laid on too brightly or heavily it has a tendency to look garish against the soft b&w tones. In any case that is purely a matter of personal taste I am sure. In regards to this image were it mine I might lighten the lip layer just a bit to soften it up.... Great work!
