So many to choose from... 1) Withnail & I 2) Desperado 3) Very Bad Things 4) Sexy Beast 5) The Shout ...with special mentions for True Romance, The Matrix, Pulp Fiction, Casino, Goodfellas, Brazil, Bladerunner, Aliens, The Cook The Thief His Wife And Her Lover, Blue Velvet, Wild At Heart and The Second Coming (which was a drama, not a film, but it was still the most awesome thing I've ever seen).
As an addition, it might interest people to know that I'm probably the saddest film buff on the face of the planet, with a chilling 200+ viewings of "Withnail & I" over a single 6 year period, with perhaps 50 since. At one point I knew the entire script, word for word. And if that's not sad I don't know what is.
Here are mine-no particular order. LOTR-1 & 2 Last of The Mohicans A River Runs Through It Gaslight Slingblade
There are a lot of things worse than dying, being afraid all the time would be one.
LOTR 1 and 2 (amazing) Le visiteur 1 (incredibly funny) Hitchcock - all (still nice after seeing them over and over) Emma (sweet!) It's a wonderful Life (classic) Indian Jones too Old B&W Burt Lancaster, Gregory Peck and Errol Flynn stuff Leperchauns and loads more :-)).
Hey Tuttle, "I demand more booze", "even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day" etc etc. I forgot to mention True romance, and Sexy Beast is cool just for Ben Kingsley using the phrase "spunk bubble". I also forgot Lock stock and two smoking barrels and Close encounters. Shit maybe I should of made it "your top 50 favourite films".

In no particular order: Casablanca The Day the Earth Stood Still The Wizard of Oz The Crow (the original, not the sequels) The Matrix Star Wars (part 4...fans are going to have to stop saying "the first three" when referring to parts 4-6 after part 3 comes out...otherwise it will become too confusing to everyone which films you mean :^) ) Toy Story 1 and 2 (not just good animation, great movies) Any Marx Brothers film Monty Python and the Holy Grail Lots of others, but too many to mention here.
This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.
Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana.
"I'd like to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather....not screaming in terror like the passengers on his bus." - Jack Handy
Independence Day It's a Wonderful Life Gone With the Wind The Cat People (the original B&W version - great play with lighting, especially the pool scene) War of the Worlds Robinson Caruso on Mars I tend towards scifi if new, and old movies of just about any nature except westerns. But, like music, I have a pretty broad span of likes. Can't abide horror movies but love comedies and mysteries.
in no particular order Star Wars all (the first three for story and the second two for CGI, .. no wait thats confusing, how about 4-6 and 1-2 or ANH, tESB, RoTJ, PM, AotC -- err thats a jumbled mess hehehe) 2001: A Space Odyssey Any Marx Brothers films too - they are a hoot the Matrix Monty Python and the Holy Grail "she turned me into a newt" Blade Runner Alien 1&2 Gladiator any Akira Kurosawa film Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon LOTR 1,2 & 3 .. just know it'll be good the early "Sean" bond films
Thats, the plan man. I bet you a tenner you go and watch it again in the next day or so. Just to help things on a bit "YOU'VE GOT ANTIFREEZE!!!!"

LOTR Movies will top my list.... Jesus Of Nazareth Stephen King's Rose Red Independence Day Mothman Prophecies Stephen King's Storm Of The Century Wolf National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. I know that is more than 5; but these are probably my most favorite movies.
There are 10 kinds of people: Those who know binary, and those who don't.Â
AÂ whiner is about as useful as a one-legged man at an arse kicking contest.
Wow there are just too many to list and I don't have a top 5 (well LOTR, Star Wars and Babylon 5 rank way up there) Basically anything Sci-Fi/Fantasy with a few exceptions (Battlefield Earth, Starship Troopers, Ator to names just a few) Any Mel Brooks films The Last Starfighter (on of the first films to use extensive CG) Harry Potter John Wayne/Clint Eastwood Westerns Dr Who/Blakes 7 Ice Age/Toy Story/Monsters Inc The list goes on..... I realise some of what I listed are TV series but they are some of my favorites.
I can almost get my favorite directors down to five: Akira Kurosawa, Fritz Lang, Stanley Kubrick, Werner Herzog, Terry Gilliam, Quay Brothers, Chuck Jones, David Lynch, Luis Bunuel, John Waters, Coen Brothers, Eric von Stroheim. Favorite movies would probably take several hundred ... Aguirre the Wrath of God, The Singing Detective, Until the End of the World, El Topo, The Harp of Burma, Delicatessen, The Prisoner ......
Star Wars (The 1st 3 that came out) Blade Runner (THE sci-fi reference movie) The Usual Suspects(Oh, if only I could write this well...) Princess Bride Aliens (all but #3, which had great directing, horrible story) Matrix (all 3, yes...they are going to be that good) Obviously, I'm a sci-fi guy...but a longer list would include all genres. Another difficult question. I'm going to have to name the ones that come to mind first and miss all the other great ones I can't think of immediately. I'm a Sci-Fi addict, but... In no particular order... 1. Bladerunner 2. The Shawshank Redemption 3. The Red Violin 4. The Legend of 1900 5. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon I'd love to add to this list with 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 3a, etc. and squeeze in works by Akira Kurosawa, Hayao Miyazaki, and others, and films like Alien, Indiana Jones, the Harry Potter films, Robot Carnival (Anime), and many more.
Hey Pakled "BTW..yer not compiling a file on us, are you?..;)" Thats classified information, just look out for threads, such as "whats your favourite food", "what car do you have", "have you ever been in trouble with the law", and "are you involved in any illegal activity at the moment". All just good honest fun I can asure you!!!!!!!!!

BTW, are the rest of you guys as damaged as i am these days? When i watch a movie i only notice the textures, models, POV and not so much the movie itself... :)

Rochr - lol - I'm like that when I'm watching films with CG effects. In Jurassic Park I just looked to see if they'd got the scenery interacting right with the CG. Sad, really ;) Oh, and a few more films... Leon Nil By Mouth Aliens 4 (that is one CREEPY alien!) The Shining Quadrophenia Manhunter Total Recall (still a great film) Dark City (massively underrated)
