Attached Link: The Seed

I was finally able to get my short film "The Seed" online at movieflix.com the direct link to that movie is here:

I'm not sure, but I don't think anyone's done anything this long with Poser as the primary tool. It's 17 minutes and a year and a half of my life!

I'm going to be starting a new project soon and I hope to get contributors from a broad spectrum of the 3d community. I'll keep you posted.

I was very pleased to see that someone had created a film longer than 5 minutes ;) And it's quite good for your first effort. The story flows well, and there are only a few spots where the action stalls (the scene where the robot is banging his head against the wall being one) For your next film, you might consider adding a bit more camera movement to liven up your otherwise static shots. I'm not talking about wild 'orbit around the whole set at 50 miles an hour' camera movement, Just have the camera zoom in like 3-4 % over the duration of a shot. It'll add that extra bit of livelyness and will keep the viewer more interested in the film. Also watch your ease-in and out for camera movements, it is bad cinematography to pan the camera (ie to follow someone walking) and then instantaneously stop the camera movement while the action continues.

Nicely done! I especially like the little sidekick robot who seems to have no problem being one step ahead of AAR1. Congratulations!

Thanks! That was a DAZ3D freebie. I named him "Little Guy". Arthur

Having just completed a short 3d animation I was simply amazed at what you were able to do with Poser as your main tool. What other programs did you use? The story was pretty good. I could see a lot of influences from video games, portions looked like they were cut scenes from one. Was this intentional? My connection was pretty lousy had to go lowband but what I could see was great. I especially like the chase through the city. I set my animation in a city and found it challenging to work with. I am not familiar that well with Poser. I think of poser as a program to create organic characters that you then export to other 3d apps. What exactly did you do within poser? and what did you do in other programs? Good work, your voice even sounded like Ewan McGregor's version of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Look forward to your next project. If you need help with it let me know, Maybe I can lend a hand.
