hey tesign! you keep posting cool pics with cool models from xfrog.... is this an exclusive secret stash you have, or can you share it with us mere mortals? :)

Hi BSong, LOL!...no, nothing secret and there are quite a number of people using it, but on SGI machine years ago. It just getting on over to the PC but at the moment NT or Win2K only. Xfrog3 is a sorta "Plant Studio" 3D program and currently still in Alpha testing. You can view their stuff and download the alpha demo version 8 at http://www.greenwork.com It suppose to run on Win98 but have problem with OpenGL display coding (I am not familiar with this kind of 'techkieeee' stuff). Version 9 should be out any time soon. 4 further interest in plant software, go to http://vterrain.org/Plants/plantsw.html and read what's more around...if you are interested in creating those 'vegetables' :) I am still waiting to see a nice hibiscus. Seen one created by someone using Rhino though....really beautiful! As for the model, they are created by some very professional body and belongs to Greenworks under copyright. I am under restriction not to distribute them freely in obj and xfr format, however, I do have a few done in Vob format which I can share at the Vue Free Stuff here. As I do not have a web site to link to VFS for download, is there any 'donor' of space to help out here so that I can upload it up. The size of the vob is as large as 14 Meg :) Let me know. Sorry for those that made it to "Greenworks.com"....LOL! Here is a true story...someone posted help once in the KPT Onelist which regards to some key command and I acknowledged saying to use the "Shit Key" instead of "Shift Key"...muuuhahahahaaha! The second best part of it is that, she replied..."What "Shit Key?...I can't find it"...LVVOL!!...wish I have one though on my keyboard, do need it sometime...LOL! So all, thanks to Marge...the addy for Greenworks is http://www.greenworks.de Bill

It does make you wonder sometimes doesn't it? Sigh....the only fear I have is once Xfrog does work on Win98 I won't be able to afford it. If the $399 on their page is right it will fall into the category of Wishware for me. Ah well, nothing new there after all. Gail

Same here, Gail. Way too expensive for my pocketbook. Would take me almost 5 months to save up enough of my software allowance to get it. (Yes, Hubby limits my spending). KateTheBroke

My husband says if I buy software then I don't buy or adopt any more animals( I quess he figures it's the less of 2 evils)and I throw in a flight sim game every once in a while to keep him happy. (hehehe) and to keep him really happy I get up at 3am and go fishing with him (if he asks nicely and the weather will be sunny, actually I like going out on the ocean but don't tell him shhhhh) Marge

i did! i mean, i kinda grasp the concept.... if you put some horns on in a sphere mode, you get a round group of tapered things.... etc. but if i wanted to build something from scratch that i had in mind, forget it. :)
