Best way is reading a tutorial or the manual :-)) Seriously, use the cloud object (a couple of speres) and sqeeze them to the wanted form and thickness. Not easy but possible.

Smoke like this? ;o) http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=298880&Start=1&Artist=Cheers&ByArtist=Yes wabe, is right, the best way is to play with cloud object. You may find that the material needs extra tweeking, I found the luminance slider to be a very handy tweek when all else fails. The problem with really thick smoke is that you may start to see the sharp edge of the sphere object, so experiments with the transparency may be needed. Cheers

In some recent weeks, I've been playing with using rocks instead of spheres for smoke. Helps with the crisp edges.

Thanks! Was using the smoke but was getting the edges too sharp, will try it again. 8^) You don't happen to know what page in the manual covers this do you? Or where there might be a tutorial on it? Marque
