Dear all It is not an argument on which program is better here, but simply a thought of discussion on Bryce user. EON Software has offered its flagship product Vue 4 to Bryce user recently at an attractive price. I have no comment on any of these software Bryce or Vue. But as I was doing 3D works for sometimes. I noticed the support from Bryce is getting less especially on new product version or new features being annouced. I couldn't think of any reasons why was Bryce improve many of its shortcomming features after a long time. Is there any reasons behind all this and are these doubts being feedback to the company Corel Let me know what you guys think Ed

Bryce, from what I've read here, is pretty much dead in the water, as far as being a "growing" product. It has been rumored that Corel is in no hurry to much, if anything, with it. And that there are no plans for now to release any upgrades for it. It would seem that the only ones who still care, are those who use it. Which, considering the way 3D apps are growing and improving, may not be many for much longer. :(

Very sad but true Billy. Corel are financially rooked and Bryce is definately on the back burner, or perhaps in the ash pan. There was a lot of discussion a while back on ways to save Bryce but that has fallen away and the only person who seemed to have an interest in buying Bryce, Doc Mojo of Pandromeda, MojoWorld fame, has not come back to the forum with any hints as to what might happen. So in my opinion Bryce will end up as a toy for people who have always used it and loved it but for work purposes it will have to be some other app. Catlin

Corel is in dire straits financially. They are doing many things to get their company and its products back on the track to being profitable. They may actually make it. But, they also MAY decide to sell their entire company off. If that happens, it will most likely to be to a company called Vector CC Holdings, L.L.C. (a company affiliated with Vector Capital, a venture capital firm), whom has showed SOME interest in taking them over. Who knows which will happen? Although I myself would place a bet on Vector Capital taking Corel. As far as Bryce is concerned, I am not worried at all. It is far too unique of a program for far too long to be forgotten. Whatever happens to Corel, Bryce WILL be purchased by someone else down the line and progressed further. From what I know now, that is almost a certain fact. The tactic of e-on (Vue) offering a discount to Bryce users is a clever one, lol. Truespace's Caligari had done the same some time ago. Sneaky and smart, imo, lol. But, whatever other programs come along, Bryce cannot be denied or forgotten. I will always use it, always suggest it for a beginning program. Either that or Vue. They are nearly the same program, with each having some advantages and disadvantages over the other. But for the price, both are THE best entry into the world of 3D, IMO. The reason I am trying Vue now, is because I had recently won it as a prize from e-on. Eventually, I can finally answer a LOT of Bryce vs. Vue questions, lol. AgentSmith

Vue, Schmue. It's all about the art, but my thing is I'm NOT French at all. Like, at ALL. I mean, not to sound entirely close-minded, but I AM! Until I see Vue do something I can't do in Bryce, which I haven't seen at ALL yet, Ill stick with my ridiculous network setup. Plus, I'm learning Japanese and can already speak okay Spanish, but I never really wanted to speak French. Not biased, and I'm NOT American, but it's my story and I'm sticking to it.

AgentSmith, I hope you are right. For Bryce's sake, and for all those who have a soft spot in there hearts for it. If someone were to purchase it, add a few simple modeling elements to it, and reduce the rendering time on it a little bit, could continue to be a great app, IMHO!
