A simple fix for the glowing nostrals... I've tried transparent props in the nose but couldn't make it work.

Bloodsong has a fix for this. It gives the nostrils a material. It is at PoserWorld. It's Here: http://www.poserworld.com/textures8.htm

I generally select all of the polygons inside the nostril with the grouping tool, assign a new material to them, and darken the material significantly from the regular skin tone. A close up shot looking up into the nostril still doesn't look right, but from most other angles it looks fine.

If you have Photoshop (and this can most likely be done in other apps too), select the "glowing" bits with a small feather value, and drag down the Lightness value somewhat, until you get a match with the rest of the skin tones.
