this is actually pretty good, muddy. the moss on the rock and the waterfall are both very well made. the textures on the trees could use a little work, but aside from that the water is magnificent, the setting perfect. One more thing I would pick on is the lighting. The sky looks a little overcast to me, and it kinda kills the realism. Perhaps a sunset scene with the sun at 6 o'clock would be more adequate, as it would lose the imperfections mentioned above and at the same time keep the incredible beauty of the image :)
This image has improved a lot. The boat is a good idea and so are the ripples. You can get away with putting the ripples anywhere in the pond because fish often feed or come to the surface making ripples an so on...It's little touches like this that make an image come to life...I still think a bird or two is needed.0.2p

And in my final hours - I would cling rather to the tattooed hand of kindness - than the unblemished hand of hate...
Thanks all. I asked the ripple placement question in hopes to spark a convo on the finer points of composition... something I really know nothing about. I think I got a decent sense of balance in pictures, but find myself pondering endlessly where to put a rock, or a bird, etc. But alas, I got no bites to my question. lol. Oh well, I'm gonna work on the bark, and try a few different light settings as Drac suggested and call it done. Bryster I looked for some birds but found none. I'll keep looking though, it would definitely be a good touch. Muddy

I've placed a few water ripples in the center so to pose this question to everyone: Where would you put the ripples and why?
