Subject: Looking For Sources Of BVH Motion Files For Poser 4 and 5 Help!

Does anyone know of any sources from where I can find some BVH motion files for Poser 4 and 5? I mean, besides PoseAmation. Not that I don't like PoseAmation's stuff, but I'm wondering if there are any motherlodes of BVH files anywhere else that anyone knows about.

OK, I found more Links to BVH files at the above link than I know that to do with. Thanks! However, a lot of the files are actually text files. Is there any way to convert them to .bvh files?

The ones from stanford (santamonica) are the best for getting started. I have some advanced bvh links if you get tired of those.

BHV file are text files, make sure the file extention is "BHV", if it's not change it.

Great! uh, how do I go about changing the file extension in Windows XP?

control panel-->folder options-->view scroll down a bit and uncheck 'hide extensions for known file types' hit apply. Don't forget to check the box after your done, file extensions can be a major pain in the bum when your renaming files in your day to day activities...

Hehe I just downloaded one of those bvh files and Koz's long hair started marching across the screen leaving Vicki behind!

An easier way would be to right click on the screen and use the 'Save As' function. Then it should come through with the proper extension. And what links are those, Eric? Hmmmmm? Oh, and be prepared to get =very= friendly with the graph editor and keyframe editor....

SothArtist:

Select the intended figure first, then import the .bvh file. :) It gets applied to whatever figure is currently selected (in your case, the hair, I'd assume).
