Sounds like the dread spline-demon at work. Use the keyframe graph to set the Head and Neck to Linear over the frames in question, and the problem should go away.

I've heard there's an Easter Egg that makes it do this if you input demonic languages.

Shhhh. Don't use that word here. It messes up the server..... [grin]

That's weird. I've never had it (Mimic) do that regardless of what props I was using.

I guess it's theoretically possible that you had the wrong thing selected when you applied the Mimic generated pose. (?????) Either way, it might be worth rendering out - you never know when you'll have the opportunity to do an "Outtakes & Bloopers" reel.

Well now, that is a very good point. I hadn't thought of that. I am still very much a newbie with Poser and I could have had something selected that I shouldn't have. hmmm, so I am assuming I just need my main figure "body" selected, yes? I hadn't really thought of it before. I did render it out.lol. it's great although a big file. I should run it through Sorenson Squeeze and post a QT on my site for enjoyment.:)
Correct, make sure your main figure's body is selected. Don't forget, we have an animation gallery in the Free Stuff section here at renderosity.

Hi, I used a standard female character from P4P, added hair and then a Mimic pose. During the animation, the head starts swinging a bit more than one would expect at one point and then the head twists around and down and rights itself finally. Very bizarre! Anyone seen this type of behavior using Mimic before? The only non-standard thing I can think of that is that I added Vairesh's Awinitahair to the model. thanks, Steve
