but no explosion. LOL don't ask me how it happened or even if it can be re-created.

yeah it has something to do with the branches per segment because once you change it to 2 it straightens up.

MuddyGrub ( ) posted Tue, 20 May 2003 at 9:03 PM

I never I thought I'd see the day I'd see a bent tree in bryce. lol Great discovery!

TheBryster ( ) posted Tue, 20 May 2003 at 9:09 PM

This has great possibilities! You could create a walkway with these trees arching overhead in a garden...forget what you call it....ho hum....

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Tue, 20 May 2003 at 9:45 PM

Like a trellis? No wait, that's latticework, for grapes or something... Interesting, that bend is very subtle and very much sought after!

Great accident. Thanks for posting the settings.:)

Innovator ( ) posted Wed, 21 May 2003 at 1:09 AM

awesome, that would be absolutely perfect if your were doing a scene showing high winds or an atomic blast where it bends the trees in that fashion. Thanks

tresamie ( ) posted Wed, 21 May 2003 at 1:54 AM

Also great for a seaside image...trees are always stunted and bent over there. Thanks for sharing! Tres

Fractals will always amaze me!

Great idea, then with glass textures on the leaves/trunk and a wierd camera angle and focal length, some PS color adjustments, then to P5 and Judy with dynamic hair and the DAZ dragon and the firefly engine and essence light set, and some bad errors in pixel sizes... But hey, its a one hour thingie. Great idea on the tree!

Rayraz ( ) posted Wed, 21 May 2003 at 3:00 AM

Very interesting indeed. I'll go play with it as soon as I've got time.

What have I started?! LOL You are welcome folks and have fun with your new technique. :)

Aldaron ( ) posted Wed, 21 May 2003 at 8:46 AM

Also after you get the tree to bend then play with the trunk/branch thicknesses. You'll get some very interesting trees.

Rayraz ( ) posted Wed, 21 May 2003 at 9:47 AM

??? at post 21 I don't get it... Is it just not logical or am I just way to deep into study-mode?

Them Welsh - if it wasn't for the fact that they make the best whiskey in the world . . . no wait a minute that's the Scotch. or is it the Irish? - nevermind. Break a leg, Rayraz! (Don't wanna jinx you on your exams.)I'm sure you'll do well with them.

catlin_mc ( ) posted Wed, 21 May 2003 at 4:08 PM

Bikermouse it is the Scots who make the best scotch, the Irish are pretty good at it too but I've never heard of Welsh whisky........have you Bryster? Catlin

bikermouse ( ) posted Wed, 21 May 2003 at 4:22 PM

Actually I'm about a fifth Scotch, a jigger of Welsh and a half keg of Irish but I'd agree the Scotts make the best Whiskey - Welsh whiskey? Arggh perish the thought- I was just kidding.

TheBryster ( ) posted Wed, 21 May 2003 at 8:44 PM

Well, there ya go! Yes, the Welsh DO make whiskey! And I'm mostly English with a quarter Norweigin...urr Viking...norse, what ever..........

catlin_mc ( ) posted Thu, 22 May 2003 at 11:24 AM

Some of your trees are great Colette, I'll post some I've come up with later. Catlin

Colette1 ( ) posted Thu, 22 May 2003 at 12:21 PM

Thanks Catlin.:^) I would love to see them.

TheBryster ( ) posted Thu, 22 May 2003 at 2:41 PM

Colette: Wonderful trees! Almost alien in nature, although you might want to think about putting the roots further into the ground.....thinking about it, this 'swamp' scene is almost primordial, the addition of a strange creature or two would make this pic complete!
