Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 09 3:46 am)
Thank you for your quick response georgress. My actual intention was to have her looking beyond the camera, not straight at it. If there is no way to fix it so she can look beyond the camera and still not look stoned, then I guess she will have to look at the camera. How do I have her look at the camera. I am not familiar with the 'point to' command. I tried moving the eyes individually, but that proved to be a disaster. Again any assistance would be greatly apprecieted. Mako.
A mistake many people make is thinking that the eyes will be in the right position if the dial numbers are the same. at some angles this works fine, at others you need to move one eye or the other until it looks right to you. If that doesn't help, sometimes you may actually have to physically move the eyeball to get it properly centered in the new eye shape. (X,Y,Z tran dials) Hope this helps. Poser is both an art and a science :D
The easiest way of pointing the eyes at the camera is by using the Point At command. Select each eye, select Point At and choose Main Camera (or whatever camera you're using) as the target. There. Your character looks at the camera. A better way is to have a prop, for instance a Poser cube and use THAT as the thing the eyes point at. The benefit being that you can move this BEHIND the camera and have the character look at it still.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Thank you! A lot of good recommendations here. (As well as how to use the "Point To" command) :-) I was under the impression that the eyes were in synch if the numbers were the same, apperantly I was mistaken. I will look into this with much more detail. I figured the eyes would look somewhat strange with the slant, maybe a less radical slant would help out as well. You are correct, Poser is not just a art, but also a science. In some cases a obsession. :-P Again Thank you! Mako.

Can someone please tell me what is wrong with this picture? I am trying to create a female elf, according to most of what I read the elves have almond shaped eyes that are slanted up around 15 degrees off level. My problem is she always looks like she is either cross-eyed or stoned.
What can I do to fix this problem?
Any assistance would be greatly apprecieted.
Mako.
