Subject: Can't Get A Texture Map to Apply to a Prop

pookah69 ( ) posted Mon, 26 May 2003 at 3:18 PM ยท edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 10:48 PM

I downloaded a director's clapboard from 3D cafe. It is a 3DS file, which I've saved in my props library. I create a texture map and apply it to the prop, and for some reason it will not show up, even when I render the image. Is there any reason why texture maps would not "stick" to a prop? I tested the texture map by applying to other props, and it works fine. Why is this prop being so stubborn??

Did you bring the prop into UV mapper and check to see how it was mapped ? Could be it need to be remapped to work right. Export it back out of poser as a OBJ fix the uv and reimport it back into poser might help.

How do you remap and fix the uv?

Yes. I opened it in UVMapper, under "Map" selected "Planar", under "Tools" selected "Fix Seams" Then under "File" I selected "Export." Then in Poser, I imported the object, and was able to apply a texture map. D
