THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: eye lashes and brows don't look right on poser figures imported to bryce 5

When I import a poser figure, as an obj file, everthing looks good, But the eye brows and eye lashes appear odd, not like the real thing. The Trans files don't load up.

I hope you know what I'm talking about. How do I fix that?

actually they do, as with the vicki character she has 2 sets of eyeballs, one to be set to a glass mat and the other to be left alone. go to the little arrow to show meshes and find the 2 eyelash meshes. they will start with Head: then folowed by a number. just choose each one you find until you get to the one that is for the thicker lashes then choose delete. this will leave you the additional lashes you put on your figure. there are also 2 sets of eyebrows (uppder ones and lower ones) hope that helps.

Ok, I did that, and I got the eye brows to work, But there was only one mesh for the eyelashes. I deleted that and now there are no lashes what so ever. I still want the lashes, just normal looking ones.

eyelashes are transmaps just like hair. You need to select the eyelash mesh and set the texture to the transmap settings that you would do for the hair. Does this make sense?

There's a really quick tut I wrote up on it for a friend of mine who was having that same problem a while ago. That was for posette lashes I think, so use at your own risk ;)

No it doesn't. I'm sorry, Im brand new to bryce 5. I loaded up a figure without any hair. Just the plain bald figure victoria 2. I don't how to set the texture to the transmap settings. I've dinked around with it but can't figure it out.

Flak, an exellent little tut on the issue. Well summarized.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!
