Subject: Bullet Time help

I'm new to Poser 4 (and the 3D scene, having been trained in more traditional mediums) and I'm looking for a way to duplicate the bullet trail effect seen in The Matrix. I have made a model in Bryce to possibly use as the trail, but I don't know how to make good textures for it so that it appears translucent. Or maybe there's a better way to go about it... In any case, anyone who has any ideas is welcome to post. Thanks!

It's been a while since I saw the Matrix, so I hope I am visualising the correct effect. How about creating lots of bullets that follow the same path, each one frame behind the other, and then make each bullet slightly more transparent than the one in front of it?

If you're rendering in Bryce, try making the material refractive.

Unless this is an animation.....maybe it would be easier to do this in post work. Thats how I would tackle it.

i'm guessing you're talking about the wave efx that follow the bullets. you could probably do somthing with a series of two sided square props by making a texture and a trans map for them or maybe using a series of torus props with trans maps.

If you're doing this in Bryce, you might have better luck asking in the Bryce forum. Plus I think some people did this after the first movie came out, so you might want to search these two forums for 'Matrix' or 'bullet time'
