Subject: Bryce Movies?

I am new to Bryce and much newer to this forum. I am hoping that I could get some help locating sites that have done animation in Bryce. I would really like to buy an animated Bryce movie. Animation (I understand that Bryce is not LW, 3DS max, or Maya) is something that I would like to learn to do in Bryce. Plus I would appreciate any tutorials pertaining to Bryce animation.

Here's a couple lil movie trailers I did with bryce, and I work for a film company now and we're using 90% bryce for our 3D stuff, we have Maya and other 3D apps we use too, but we wanted to do most of the stuff in Bryce just to say it can be done heheh:-) Oh the Shahnra trailers are my own works, not related to the film companie's stuff.

Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

Here is a link on this subject. Two movies were made almost entirely with Bryce, "Planetary Traveler" and "Infinity's Child". They are nice, but low on plot (no visible characters)...they are distributed by the "Mind's Eye" people. I have both, and really like them.

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Here's a good Bryce site. In the left frame, under "Basic," there is a link to an "Animation" tutorial and a "Camera Animation" tutorial. Both are very good.

Hey Clay, how did you do the PSunami waves in The Shahnra Project and the animation WIP animations?

nietojo ( ) posted Fri, 06 June 2003 at 9:55 PM

Thanks everyone. I am very impressed with the animation in Bryce. Can any one explain how you create the appearance of moving water. Tidal waves.

antevark ( ) posted Fri, 06 June 2003 at 9:57 PM

Mostly it's done with multiple terrains on a water plane.

nietojo ( ) posted Fri, 06 June 2003 at 9:59 PM

Is it two terrains with a water peset added?

antevark ( ) posted Fri, 06 June 2003 at 10:03 PM

More like 5 to 50, depending on how close to the water you want the camera to be. Just create a wavy looking cylinder in the terrain editor and multi-replicate them along one axis. Group them, add texture, and animate them moving forward.

Thanks I will play around with that idea tonight. I have so many questions. One at a time though. :-)
