Hi,

I want to render a little animation. To easily set up the correct scene I want to render I want to rotate something . I think it is done with the "track object" option, but i can't get it done. The pictures gives an explanation of what I exactly want. If i can get this done my scene setup will get a lot easier. Don't know if this is possible.

thnx in advance
Ren

Turn on your "show origin" in the sphere and red bar's group attributes, then move the green origin point down to where the red and green bars meet, that should do the trick for ya.

Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

Do what clay said and make the green bar the parent of the red bar and the red bar the parent of the ball. Instead of moving the ball, you rotate the red bar and it should rotate around the origin while the ball sticks too it like glue.

When you move the origin handle you can constrain to either x,y,z axis by holding either x,y,z letter on the keyboard. Arleen

Quote - When you move the origin handle

Sorry i don't know what you mean by that. Sorry for the delayed. reply

The origin handle is the little green dot in the center of the object or group that appears when you go into attributes (the little "a") and set "show origin handle". this is the point that the object/group rotates around. If you move it then it rotates at the new point as clay suggested above.
