Imagine taking a photo and stretching it over a balloon, the integrity of the material is distorted. You can adjust the scale/resolution of the terrain to get them closer. however their characteristics are different. As you practice, you can figure out ways to distract the eye with other objects & lighting. You can also adjust the material too. more practice. ;) When you see images in the gallery you like...ask the artist about those settings in particular. Have fun

Dumb question: Is the terrain sitting flush on the plane? It may look better if you sink it in a little.

I've got a question, it should be quick for most of you to answer. When i create a terrain object and make it the same material as the ground, why are there visible seams where it meets the ground? both the terrain and the ground are on object space, but it still does it. I'm using default bryce terrain textures, so maybe that's it.
