Subject: Gender Bending in Poser

Hi all, Is it possible to get a Michael character to wear Victoria's clothes and hair (or vice-versa) ? For example, if I wanted to create a butch Victoria character who likes DAZ's Wedge Cut hair, and who wears Michael's clothes, how would I go about doing it ? (...likewise if I wanted to turn Mike into a drag queen). Hair and clothing props will only conform to the character that they were made for, correct ? ... if that is the case, then how would you go about fixing these props so that they could fit the other character ? regards, Andrew

One way to do it would be to use Stephanie and the Tailor. Steph is based on Michael's mesh, but wears Victoria's hair and clothes. I'd create my character using Michael's morphs, spawn a new morph target for each body part then use morph manager to transfer them to Stephanie. Then I could use the Tailor to copy those morphs onto Victoria's clothing, as V2 clothes fit Steph almost perfectly. I don't know how successful that would be - I've had a lot of success mixing Steph and Mike morphs for androgynous characters but I've never tried adding clothing. Of course, if you're a poser expert the best way to do it is forget the above and use magnets to morph the clothes. Vicky clothing will conform to Mike, and vice versa - the joint parameters are slightly different so it doesn't conform perfectly, and of course it doesn't fit. But magnets can fix both those problems.

It doesn't work well, but there are ways to get the effect in still images. First, don't conform the cloths. Second, resize the clothing to a close fit. Individual parts will need to be resized. Third, pose the clothing the same way you'd pose the figure, and do it over the figure. You'll have to do some postwork after, and probably need to make parts of the underlying figure of Mike or Vicky invisible, but you can get a nice effect. There are gender bending cloths out there for Vicky if you mix and match tops and bottoms. Female clothing for Mike is tougher. A kilt and a t-shirt with a little work with a magnet and a common tiled texture works pretty well as a simple dress. Add a feather boa, a modified texture with makeup, and a high updo and you've got a pretty fair steriotypical drag queen. The best drag queens would look so much like Vicky that you couldn't tell they're real anyway. The best toption for a drag queen though is V3. Use the male face morphs and muscle packs and the regular V3 conforming cloths for a good combination look. Hope this helps. pdxjims (after all, leather is just another form of drag).

Oh yeah, don't forget the gloves. Mike's hands are VERY unfeminine. The drag queens I know with hands like that always wear gloves.

The hair will fit anyone-- with a little help-- The flattop already has a Vicki fit. Emily

Stephanie and Tailor are certainly the easiest way to go. BUT! don't forget that both V2 and V3 have male morphs .. so with a little work on the chest area, its possible to get a male looking V into lingerie. Yes I was working on an image of the Rocky Horror show ... As for the other way ... If I'm not mistaken didn't somebody here make a chest morph for mike to give him ...ah .... frontage?

Heh. Everyone I know complains that Mike's hands are /too/ feminine, that they're too small. As for cross dressers/transexuals/drag queens, V3 is your best bet. And Lyrra, that was for the P4Dork, not Mike. ^.-
