Looks wonderful so far - most people would kill for that to be their first attempt! As for "nostril glow", IIRC that has been found to be a combination of 3 things: 1. Modelling flaws which weren't realised until Vicky3 (there's a "lip" just inside the nostrils which result in a darker interior than the smooth nostrils on DAZ model prior to Vicky3). Seemingly they discovered this my looking at a real nose for the first time while creating the Victoria 3 model (why no-one had looked before... I mean, they're not a rare resource...). 2. Lights pointed upwards. By default Poser has at least 1 up-pointing light - pointing right up people's nostrils. this "helps" to illuminate them. 3. Other lighting/render engine aspects (like are your shadow maps high enough resolution? So on and so forth) Possible fixes: Darkening the nostrils on the texture map, if possible, or setting the "Notril" texture (where available) darker than the "skin". Not having lights pointing up the nose, or darkening them. Inserting props - nasal fluff, if you like. Presumably semi-transparent dark spheres or some such parented to teh ehad would do the job. POSSIBLY a new morph could be made to simulate the "nostril ridge", but I wouldn't want to put money on it. Increase the resolution of your shadow maps, and/or adjust the shadow cams to "zoom in" on the area that shadows need to be cast, providing sharper darker shadows. Cheers, Cliff

Take a look at VirtualSite's texturing tutorial on PoserPros. He covers ways of, well, covering the head. It is tedious but posssible. A reealy good tutorial for anyone to tell you the truth. Hi all! I am attempting my first texture. I decided to go with the Daz3D Millennium Baby after being inspired by my one year old coming in rosy cheeked and tan from playing in the sun. I was going to do a photo texture but had problems once I ran out of skin around the immediate face area. I couldn't get any cut out skin areas to match without lots of blending. Then the blended areas looked nothing like the skin areas. If you look closely at the forehead in my texture you can see the real photo texture of the skin because I haven't blended it out there yet.
The hardest place I had matching up was the lips. I just wasn't sure where the colored part should end on the template. Any helpful hints there?
I plan on doing other textures. I would like to do photo textures but what do I do about the edges or areas that need to be blended? I read cakeone's tutorial but still am unsure how to go about it.
Feel free to pile on the criticisms, tips, and tricks!!! I'm just learning and need all the help I can get!

Same lighting and head morphs, no post work. Darkened the
nostrils on mine because color was off. Any fix for that?
