Subject: Is there a really good tutorial about animating with poser 4?

Ive read the tutorial, but the section about animating is not really helping me concerning what i want to learn. Ive read quit a view things about animating (most well-known might be disneys "The illusion of life) but all the things i thinkk i do theoretically understand, i just dont get together in combination with poser. For example if i do a pose to pose animation of a bird walking; and have one frame of the birds left foot on ground, a few frames of the movement where the left foot is liftet, and the right foot is on ground, i often just get the result of the bird right foot just slideing (while moving) slightly over the floor somehow. The only way for stoping the birds feed sliding is as far as i can see just the manual setting of keyframes - whitch often can take a long (to long) time. I would like to nail the feet on the floor while tuching the ground no matter what coordinates the body proportion got. Is there also a chance to turn the order of some selected keyframes, this shall mean for example to make the birds walk backwards, while another bird in the same animation still walks foreward? Whouls be great if somebody could help me Chiropraktiker

"I would like to nail the feet on the floor" IK ... inverse kinematics ... Keeps the foot in place unless you move it. This is exactly what it is for.

i know, and i just figured out why this doesent work for me, in my animation i was moving/adjusting the whole body with the Trans wheels - and IK as far as i can see stands in relation to the body object coordinates not to the world coordinates. But what about paying parts of an animation in an animation backwards, does that work? Chiropraktiker

Poser 4, no. [No info on Poser 5, I have a Mac.]

The simplest way I can think of to make part of an animation go backwards would be to use the Animation Palette to move the key frames of the character into the reverse order on the timeline. (Is it me or does that sound like a line from a bad Star Trek episode?)

Has some good points, although it's not really an animation tutorial as much as it is covering the overall movie-making process. Still some good info though. hope this helps! --silver

i just had a look at the http://www.digipuppet.com website, interresting but not exactly what im looking four. If i cant make parts of my animation going backwards, i think i have to do the backwards walking during post production (after effects) as long as they dont interact with some characters walking foreward it should work.
