Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 20 7:34 am)
I can't really answer your first question, except to say that the closer the prop is to the head the more the eyes will point inwards towards each other, and that because of the way Poser 4 handles textures in the Texture Shaded preview mode, there is always a slight shift in the position of the eye texture when the scene is rendered. It may help to check the scene in Smooth Shaded mode before rendering. The Point At dial controles the amount of Point At, set to 1.000 the eyes should point directly towards the prop, set to 0.500 the eyes should point half way between the direction they were pointing at before Point At was applied and the prop.

My posing skills are not all the best I guess I spend too much time making models and textures and not rendering images. I am trying a trick that a large number of you use to get the eyes of a poser figure to point and focus in the direction of an object - making the eyes move together in one direction. I am using the ball as a targeting source and I have placed it out from the figure in relative scale to the figure about 20-25 feet at eye level. Then I pose my figure (portrait) and adjust the ball to my needs, but the eyes never seem to be quite right. My question is should the ball be closer to the figure or further away? Moreover, what does the eye point dial settings figure all into this?
