Greg hair by neftis seems close. Nice hair cut, BTW.

cherokee69 ( ) posted Sun, 06 July 2003 at 12:21 PM

Greg Hair is longer than this.

caleb68 ( ) posted Sun, 06 July 2003 at 12:23 PM

thx :) Greg hair is pretty close, bit thicker then what i've got though, mines closer to military limits. I did IM neftis to see if she would be willing to help me with the hair model though if time permits :) never know :) I remember when neftis first started her store, she's come a long ways sense then and constantly getting better :)

Yeah, she does a great job on hair but I wish she would do more up to date hairstyles for Mike.

Daz Morphing Flat Top with Front Down morph and a good texture would be close.

hrm... well just visited daz, i could find the flat top color pack but no flat top hair style, odd... guess its not avaible to those who dont join there subscription service, can't see paying 99 bucks just to see, nor just for a hair model.

its not a PClub item. Its in the premiere store. I've included a link. It is rather expensive, but it is a nice hair model.

naw not that bad for price, where was it? looked through the hair section and it didn't show here, just the flattop textures. Is the morph your talking about seprate?

MachineClaw ( ) posted Sun, 06 July 2003 at 2:11 PM

Daz Site. Premier store. Hair. Micheal. Morphing Flat Top. There is also a Morphing Fla Top textures item as a seperate product. on the Morphing Flat Top product page there are 2 popups. on popup #2 there is a morph called Front Down it is a side shot of the product (kinda small) but it looks similar to your image that you posted. with the right texture (black) and a trans it could be very close to your needs. hope that helps. I'm sure I saw a free hair model somewhere that was similar to your picture, I just can't seem to locate it anywhere.

Studio Maya has a free model that looks a lot like DAZ's flat top; it's called the "Short Cut." They also have the "Simple Hair" for Mike that might work. Simple Hair is on page 3 of the hair section; Short Cut is on page 4.

i gave them a shot, dont think there gonna work either, thanks for the link to the maya site though. nice cap bonbohish, but a little too short ;) okie okie so im being picky hehe ;) Its for a morph set i built for v3 (thats why i said v2/v3) I use to have long hair and had a good model very close to it by Dark_Whisper, but got my hair cut the other day and am trying to make the model reflect the same changes. The morph set i created on my own (prior to v3 male morphs) it was going to be a market item (caleb68 pack) but I changed my mind and use it for my own renders (something unique). But the models sapose to be me (minus the unibrow) and thats why im being so picky ;)

Here's three Daz hairstyles side by side, the same way round as your photo so you can compare them- Wedge Cut on the left, Flat Top in the center and Short Style Cut on the right. I've got the Greg hairstyle somewhere too, but that's rather longer than your pic. I don't think any of them are spot-on accurate, tho'.

If you've got P5 maybe you could try growing your own?

Jackson ( ) posted Sun, 06 July 2003 at 7:35 PM

Oh yeah, you did say Vicky...forgot about that. How about Neftis' Gab Hair then? It has very short sides and a fuller top I think.

xoconostle ( ) posted Sun, 06 July 2003 at 8:05 PM

I know you already considred it, but in my experience, the DAZ Flat Top would be the closest approximation. Unfortuantely, the DAZ Short Style Cut, while great for long-distance shots, is a tad outdated as M2 hair goes, and looks a "hand drawn" up close. The flat top on the other hand comes with terrific morphs, and looks very good in high-res renders, even up close. As much as I like Maya's similar styles, you wouldn't be able to get the same approximation of the very short parts of the hair in your photo that you could with the DAZ flat top. It's not exactly the same, but with careful morphing and perhaps a little post-work, you could just about get there. Also, the Flat top fits the P3 characters, Vickie 2, and Stephanie. There are third parties who've made some decent extra morphs and textures for it, including short Afro styles.

Um, P4 figures, not P3. Dang typos.
