Subject: Need Tips on Easier Posing of Daz AV Skeleton

diana ( ) posted Tue, 08 July 2003 at 7:29 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 7:40 AM

It's nice to have the vertebrae pose individually but it's a pain posing them individually even if I start with a basic pose I want to adjust a bit. Is there an easy pose method for this skeleton where it works like arms and legs with IK on but for the vertebrae? I picked it up at its new much reduced price, then with my platinum club discount and my $30 voucher for buying Mimic 2 Pro it was under $12. ;-) Very nice skeleton except no real teeth, just a solid chunk of mesh you have to texture map. I've parented a skull with real teeth to the head and hid the original head, that works ok but I really need to do a dental replacement job on it.

I use the millenium teeth with the skeletons. One of my recent images shows the Mil teeth integrated with a Poser 4 skeleton. speaking of which, I just picked up the AV skeleton too... we must be on some kind of same wavelength. g

An EasyPose setup of the skeleton would do the trick. I've thought of that for a long time, but I don't have the ability to do it myself.

I may try my hand at it at some point, but for now, I'm getting along with posing the vertebrae... Its an ultracool model, I love it lots.

If somebody, or a group of somebodies, were to buy me a copy of that skeleton or persuade DAz to give me one, I'd happily set up an EasyPose add-on for it and post it as a free item. I suspect DAZ would be willing to host the add-on in their free stuff archive as well.

I don't know how to do that easy pose stuff myself either wyrwulf. Saw your image with the Mil teeth bijouchat and it looks good. You make the gums invisible or are they just hidden inside the jaw and mandible of the skeleton?

The millenium teeth have a dentures morph, so I just kinda fit it in the jaw, and postwork a little where you see any overlap. I used the same shader on both... actually, there is no texture mapping on the skeleton or the teeth in that image, its all Carrara procedural shaders :)So it fits right in colourwise.

Ajax... sniff... I've blown my fun money for the week, I'm afraid... maybe we need to collectively nag DAZ to let you have it! Its really such a cool model, I couldnt pass it up at the new price.

They've done deals like that with me before. I haven't asked them about this one in particular. I hate nagging them, so I'm really just looking for a way to get somebody else to do that bit for me ;-)

Heh. I wonder how many people are going to be using their voucher to get that droolworthy stack of bones now.....? :D

Gack, I hate not having an edit function..! Maybe we need to start a little informal petition on this? Anton and Steve pop in here often enough, and Ghu knows it would be a win-win situation. For that matter, it might just provoke someone to start churning out a texture set or four for them....
