Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
rnollman - There's no problem with the dress and there are a squillion (okay, several) morph dials relating to movement and shape for the skirt in the "Body" group of the dress. Additionally, there is a 'Body Handle' (check for the little red cone under the dress) that allows for even more customized movement options. If you're unfamiliar with the use of 'Body Handles', Daz has a tutorial in the Arcana/Daz section of their website. Additionally, there are several threads in this forum where really useful information has been posted by Anton on this subject. Regards, -Nancy.
As Nancy has said all the morphs you need for the legs are in the "Body" channel. The Body handle is used to tilt the bottom of the skirt for hip/leg rotation. Just don't think of it like pants. Play with it for a bit and it will all become clear.

I for one am having some massive issues posing the skirt- if I want vicki to stand with her legs more than a foot apart, I can't seem to make the dress look natural at all. Especially if her legs are more off to the side. The walk left and walk right morphs only move the dress to the front and the back. The full skirt and hem out morphs don't fix it either. Am I just not meant to use the dress with anything other than a basic standing pose? Or am I just really horrible at figuring this out. :) I'm having the same problems (moreso actually) with the starlet dress. Any help would be appreciated.
Etomcheck, I think you just need more practice with using the morphs in the "Body Channel" to find the combination to get the look you want. Things like the new dresses are far beyond what Poser was ever meant to do when it was designed. Unfortunately that makes them more complex as a result. Just keep playing and I am sure you'll be fine. In a market now adays where alot of products/textures are "double click to perfect" the more complex items still require more user posing for individual needs. Overall products are greatly more comlicated and complex that what many of us ever had when we started using Poser. Just takes time playing and it all makes sense. Most people ignore morphs and just use the default shapes. Things like the dresses depend on morphs to function. Hang in there. Just takes time.

Try posing Vicky, clicking on her and then pressing CTRL and C and then clicking on the dress and pressing CTRL V. This often works. If not, try saving Vicky's pose as a pose dot and then applying it to the dress. I love these dresses and honest, they are great when you get the hang of it - keep at it.

So I finally got around to installing the DAZ V3 Fantasy Dress package and all the add-ons from the Platinum Club expecting that the clothes would conform perfectly. But Vickie's thighs pop through the gown on the standard V3 opening pose. I can not understand why this would be so if the conforming cloths are from DAZ designed for their own model. Am I missing something? The readme file said something about setting the joints to zero in the joint editor. I am not sure where the joint editor is and why I should have to do this and if it will solve the problem. I turned of visibility on the thighs thinking that would take care of it, but they still pop through. I mean, the texture of the dress renders beautifully without even any special lighting applied, but I have not even tried any other poses. I cannot imagine what will happen if she tries to sit down. At this point I am puzzled and disappointed. Judy is looking better all the time.
