http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=375433&Start=1&Sectionid=28&filter_genre_id=33&BestRanking=Yes The image above is done by MojoWorld. Can Bryce make water like that? In case the above link does not work. The water running over a beach and sliding down...that momement. Can Bryce do that?

Slakker ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2003 at 4:35 PM

You mean the tide? Bryce can make water like that, yes, but you have to do some playing with textures and things.

antevark ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2003 at 4:47 PM

It's all in the textures. Bryce can do that if you're willing to experiment, learn, and try again.

And please...you could have pasted that into the actual "url" field and created a LINK instead of having people copy and paste. So i did it for you.

Slakker, I think your name should be CorrectorOfSlakkers instead.

Yes Bryce can make very realistic water

Ang25 ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2003 at 6:08 PM

Slakker, please tell me how people do this, I mean putting the link inside the message. I haven't a clue how this is done. Thanks, Angela

and a close up Realise these are just quick renders that were put together. With a bit more work on textures, lighting, etc it can be 10 times better.

jasonmit ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2003 at 6:16 PM

Angela: Put the link in the box that says URL.

wildman2 ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2003 at 6:20 PM

copy and paste your url in the space labeled url just below the spot where you type your response to a post and it will link it up

"Reinstall Windows" is NOT a troubleshooting step.

Ang25 ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2003 at 6:28 PM

And the box above it is the caption for the link such as "the link", its that easy huh? Wow. Ok, I'm off to put my dunce cap on. Thanks for the info. :-)

And DigilalPhotography if you hang around you should see lots of amazing things Bryce can do with textures in this months challenge. 8) Catlin

Sorry about the link. I did see the URL, but I thought it was meant for my link to my page or something like that. I just got my Bryce two days ago and made three images so far in my gallery. I've never done 3D work before...I just decided to try as a hobby. :-)

I'm doing some experiments to simulate surf from a distance in bryce, using terrains and slope sensitive mats...Basically I'm using photoshop to make 'negatives' of the terrain the water is to be reacting with, and building ripples into the grayscale. Mixed results sofar, but it shows promise. I've noticed that terragen and mojoworld do a really nice job at this kind of thing....
