Hey there Neftis, Sure, sure, you've been on it since January, but HEY: Look at the result. Even if it isn't totally finished yet, it is one fine looking mesh you have there! Love the smile, love the cute face, love everything about it (except for the 'ugly seam', maybe :) - hope you can work that one out). Keep it up, Neftis, and vacation later. An occational beer is allowed, though :) -Hanz
she's adorable...just adorable...and, i've been watching her since very early on. are you mapping her in lightwave, or using uvmapper? somehow, i can't seem to get uvmapper to work right with lw...but that's me. when you're done...and get to rest, you can stop round and see me here, in south florida. i have sunshine a beach, and, always plenty of beer. good job. looks like the map isn't meeting like it should. that happened with my guy for the last lw challenge...so, i tried doing it with the tute by loganarts in the character creators forum....how to texture a head using planar maps. works much better.
Thanks guys! But I would like to know if it's possible to make a king of 'bear rug' with the body mapping....about the same as they have done with victoria3...I think it's the best way to map actually...but can't figure out how it was done...or wich prog to use... I use uvmapper pro....some jobs in lightwave too... I have no probs with the head...it's just the body that make me want to go buy a wig!

in lw you can flatten it like that....and wrap it round. here's a link to some other links....i don't want to give you more frustration. try the links when you're refreshed.Well, You got 2 ways to get that "bear rug" mapping. 1- in UVMapper, you start with planar(With split in 2), then you need to manually move polys where the seams are.(That can be tedious). 2-Use Bodypaint(Either standalone app, or as Plug-in for C4D & possibly other apps). Bodypaint makes UVMapping actually Fun! Wish i could help you. But, i've just started on a big commercial project. So i can't be dedicated full time to other projects. But, if you want help with the mapping, message me. Or do like others suggested & check Steve's great forum! BTW, Most excellent facial features! God Speed! Marco
I feel your pain... I made Mayadoll compatible with Vicky 1 with just uvmapper pro... yep, its mostly planar mapping, split in two, then seam spreading and vertex pulling by hand. And then having to select out parts, planar map again to the correct axis (such as eye and lip corners) then move to correct position and stitch uvs again... I spent 2 weeks on the mayadoll, that's about how long it takes to do it (at the very least) in uvmapper pro.
