Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 20 11:41 am)
Hi Konan, This sounds like a great addition! Sorry to sound a bit dumb, but I'm finding it hard to image how this process would work, never having done it. How would this work in practice for a program like Cinema4D? what steps are requires to bring an animation from Poser in to Cinema? By the way Cinema4D gets my vote:) regards, Tribe.
How about earlier versions of Max like 1.2? A LOT of people still use that version. (including me) The current version (to my understanding) doesn't work with 1.2 so I've never bothered with it. I'd love to have something that would let me automate the import process to 1.2 Also it would be really nice to be able to keep the materials straight. As it is now I have to import the .obj file then re-do ALL the materials. And since there are lots of them it takes quite a bit of time...too much time to try something different. As it is I only import something to Max when I am REALLY sure that is what I need (and only a static pose) and it takes me about 1/2 an hour just to get the materials straight. If an importer could get the materials straight from load it would be fantastic.

In case any of you haven't heard (or care), I have developed the software package "Maximum Pose", which converts Poser animations to 3D Studio MAX. I am now considering having MaxPose translate Poser animations to other software packages. If you are interested in exporting your Poser animations to another renderer, please write me an email and let me know which is your renderer of choice and I will put you on a contact list. Consider it voting. Examples are - True Space 4 - Cinema - Lightwave - Carrera Software titles that will not be appropiate due to technical reasons are - Bryce - Vue 3 (although I would LOVE to render my animations in this beauty) Email me at konan@spacemoose.com and state which software package you want to see supported. Konan p.s. If you reply via this forum, be sure to leave your email address.
