Your wings keep rendering black! I've tried Reversing the Winding Order with UV Mapper, and applying a .001 thin dissplacement map, but neither works! The attached image is of the map I added, where do we go from here?

You also need to apply the texture. Another tip is to load the original cr2, and select each part with the group tool, and clicking reverse normals. Then re-save the cr2. Hope that helps you.

I purchased this right from sharkey, and I kinda recognize the texture you used, but I may have missplaced the image file. What is it's name and which packege did it come with. I'll have a copy of the MAT file Thumbnail I think I'm supposed to be using when I come back. = )

GraphicFoxx ( ) posted Wed, 09 July 2003 at 11:46 AM

The texture is the one that came with it. Should be in textures/Angelyna. And mine didn't come with any MAT files. Just the wings cr2, and textures (texture, trans, and template)

What you describe about the black rendering has something to do with Poser 5 and reversed normals. The wings were built long before Poser 5 was released. With Poser 4 they work fine. But anyway, fact is Poser 5 doesn't like reversed normals. GraphicFoxx exatly described what's to do to solve this problem. Then the wings will render the way they had. Thanks GraphicFoxx for helping in this problem.

No problem sharkey. I just hope Odiemance has everything worked out.

Hi Guys!, I found my origional archive and have re-installed the texture I was missing! With the MAT selected in my pose library(above), and a desaturation of the default texture connected to the nodes(above), I can now render a white pair of wings! brb...

Oh I also Inverted Normals as directed... But now look what happens when I apply a pose file! The aren't two models in this scene. When I delete a part of that thing the scene is empty. Any pointers?

GraphicFoxx ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 10:58 PM

Ok, now THAT is weird. I'm gonna have to play around and see if that happens with me too. Does it render with duplicates as well?

Odiemance ( ) posted Fri, 18 July 2003 at 11:01 AM

Please do! I just recieved an IM from sharkey saying he'll be stuck in his Hungarian Factory untill Satuday night, and that he does'nt have P5 to give me a rigged .pz3. So, I've asked him for permission to request just that from this thread.

GraphicFoxx ( ) posted Fri, 18 July 2003 at 12:36 PM

Ok, I've done some playing around, and did not have that occurance at all. What did sharkey say about distributing a .pz3? I'll send one to you if he said it was ok.

I'm not sure if you've tried it yet, but Maveris over at RuntimeDNA released a version of the Angelyna wings with easy pose. At least for me, they're already fixed for P5, and I haven't had any problems with them. They're on the second page of the freebies, or follow the link.

Sharkey..., I just really want to you know how happy I am that you have tried to hard to support your product so far! Unfortunetly we're stuck here with our grouping error still... This is is what the wings look like in my Setup Room, after I've selected all of its parts with the Group Tool, Reversed Normals, and applied a generic Library Preset!= = |

Here is an image of them then in the Setup Room. : |

GraphicFoxx ( ) posted Wed, 23 July 2003 at 10:48 AM

Ok, that may be it. You don't have to go into the setup room. In the pose room, select the grouping tool, and click on wing base. Down at the bottom click on reverse normals, and do that for each part. Then re-save to your character library. Try that out, and see if that solves it. GF

Odiemance ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 2:08 PM

You're the bringer of good news that took over two weeks of daily posting to acquire! You've won the Forum Hero Prize! From the Pose Room, I just switched to and fro the Crosshair and Group Tool>Reverse Normals buttom! Now everything is posable and white! Thanks again! I'll try to remember to leave a link to my next render with the wings, in here, for everyone! I'm psyced, woowho!

GraphicFoxx ( ) posted Thu, 24 July 2003 at 3:18 PM

Woot! I'm glad that finally solved it. Had me stumped for a while until I saw that setup room pic. But at least all this headache is over for you, and you can start rendering away. Have fun now :)
