I think there might be some tack and harness stuff in Daz' Free Brokered area. There was an actual harness at 3d Menagerie, but I don't remember if there is a rifle attachment to it or not. For that matter, I'm not sure if the site is still there..lotta help I am..;)I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

Actually, just using Yahoo and the word "scabbard". Lots more still there. Scabbards are quite popular.Hi pakled, thanks for the suggestions, but I'm looking for references to make the model myself, not find an existing one. :) Daio, if you could suggest a specific book or books that would be great! Ms Outlaw, thanks for the nice comment. :8} Veritas777, there are lots of scabbard pictures out there, but I have found only one of the scabbard actually attached to the saddle to show where it goes, and it's half hidden beneath the rider's leg so I can't see how it's attached. Ideally I ought to get a real-life look at the actual thing, but Western saddles with attached rifle slings are pretty rare in the UK! :/ nen-chan, I've checked a few re-enactor websites for photos, but the thought of checking their reference recommendations had escaped me, thank you I'll try that.

Can anybody recommend visual references for western (cowboy) saddle attachments such as rifle/pistol scabbards actually in position on the saddle? I've found plenty of saddle and saddlebag reference pictures, but none of a scabbard in place. A good book thats still in print or an online gallery would be ideal. And can anybody recommend a better forum for this post? I'm posting here because the research is for a potential Poser model, but might there be a better, non-software specific forum? Thank you!
