Any good advance tutorials on lighting? Like spot, directional, point etc/ what techniques, and settings to use? Thanks

Funny you should ask. I'm working on one right now. The tutorial won't be done for another day or so.

My latest tutorial covers how the basics of how Vue 4 calculates diffuse and ambient light in a scene. I decided to write the tutorial because I wanted to know too! lol. I did about 12 hours of research into it. The ambient light calculations were difficult to determine. The tutorial is four pages long.

Expect a post in this forum in the next couple of days asking for constructive criticism on a 'Ambient and Diffuse Light in Vue 4' tutorial.

Good news ! I am curious to see it when it is done. Lighting is a pet peeve of mine. In the meantime, don't forget the fabulous study about lights from 'nggalai'. It is almost a reference...

Want to know all about digital lighting? Buy the book "Digital Lighting and Rendering"! It's a fantastic book! You can find it on amazon :)

I didn't recommend that book because I have recommended it so many times in the past, people will start thinking I am getting something in return :) Buy that book - it is worth every pages.
